That is now categorically impossible. No GOP Senator would ever vote to convict a GOP president in an impeachment, no matter what the facts of the case may be.

I doubt if a Republican today would pass up the chance to vote to convict a Democrat president in an impeachment no matter what the facts of the case may be.

Yes, that dishonest. Protecting your own is one bad thing. Convicting on pure politics is another…or worse.
