I think McConnell miscalculated. If he lets Warren read the letter(s), it’s a story buried halfway down the home page on most newspaper websites (at best). But by pulling this move, it’s a story that has legs. There’s already “She persisted” t-shirts and it’s trending on twitter. Now everyone is going to hear about the letter. And if he tries to shut down all the democrats, it becomes a giant story where he has to answer questions about why it was inappropriate. If he doesn’t then he has to answer why he did it to a woman but not to a man. Basically, he once again found a way to fuck himself
