He’s also the assistant coordinator for Middle Eastern Studies at OU. I’ve learned to keep your head down in a situation like this, where even if you win, he can be a menace in the future.

How important is the B/C issue? Will the change risk loss of scholarships? Does it make you ineligible for awards and standings for which the B would have left you eligible?

If it’s no big deal, then I agree with a caveat. If it has an impact then fight. Remember (for what it’s worth) that the first step is always to give the person a chance to save face and fix it first.

The caveat: if you will have classes with this professor again, you will have this problem again. At a minimum you’ll wonder if what he’s telling you this time is legit or not. The question then becomes which headache do you prefer, lack of trust in what he’s telling you, or watching your back for his revenge. Your call, either way.
