I haven’t lost power for more than a few hours for years.
I have an idea that neither you nor I know what goes into fixing a power outage like that (where pieces of equipment were probably shorted and destroyed and had to be replaced).
People in my area lose power once or twice a year for one or two days at a time, mostly during the summer (thunderstorms) and winter (ice branches).
This is a normal urban/suburban area. I don’t see any particular reason why it wouldn’t be possible to improve the infrastructure and minimize these effects, especially since I have lived, and other people clearly live, in areas with similar weather without such ill-effects.
