Do you think Kelly and others on the Christie staff actually did the bridge lane closures on their own? Earlier I had posted that I thought Christie is the kind of guy that either had it done or said okay to the idea if the staff did come up with the plan. I just can’t see a guy that flings around his power allowing a staffer to do it all without his knowledge.

Yeah, that’s a tough one.

Personally, I’m leaning towards Christie letting it be known that Fort Lee needed to be taught a lesson; verbally and not in writing. That way, even if someone tries to implicate Christie, he can go with the whole “I never explicitly said to punish the mayor and Fort Lee.”

That then moves on to Christie’s appointees, drunk on power and the hubris of the upcoming landslide victory, figuring they can do anything they fucking well please.

Funny how this stuff spirals out of control when your ego gets the best of you.
