Freepers are all over this. While a few are pointing out the irrelevance of sexual orientation to driving a train, a lot are convinced that anyone who does unnatural things is inherently unstable.

They’re also making much of the fact that he clerked at Target a decade ago and must be some sort of affirmative action hire. According to our local news here in the Bay Area, he worked for CalTrain (the local commuter train up and down the Peninsula) before he got his current job.

There have never, ever, been train crashes before this one.
