For every story like that there’s a half a dozen or more where someone gets hurt or dead. I’d like to see stats on how many people are saved by using their own gun in situations like this. I don’t know if the data has been gathered for that,but it would be interesting to know what the real numbers are for intruders stopped by the homeowner’s gun.

Stats are very hard come by in this area since it is often said that “the suspicious-looking guy suspected/saw that I had a gun so the crime never was even begun.” Impossible to prove or disprove.
