Those don’t match up with the way he put it in the interview. The idea he put forward is not that the rape was fake, or a lie, or a result of second thought but that the female body can tell the difference between a forced rape and a non-forced rape.

So you can’t get pregnant from forcible rape? How forcible are we talking? Does the rapist have to actually hit his victim, or is just holding a gun on her sufficient for the body to identify this as…oh dear, this is just getting worse, isn’t it?

Actually, there’s some evidence that extreme physical trauma may up your chances of conceiving—which is presumably an unintentional quirk of evolution, since being mauled by a sabertooth is probably not the best way to start a healthy pregnancy.
