Yup, Gold Key. They had a few major franchises like Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and Man from U.N.C.L.E.

When I was in college (yikes! 30 years ago!), I stumbled across a copy of the old Gold Key Star Trek #1 in a used book shop. “All comic books $.25,” the sign read. I got my greedy little fingers on it and sold it shortly thereafter at a comic shop for $25.

My greedy little fingers were also poor little fingers, and back then $25 was good for a whole week of mad money.

Of course, now the damned thing is worth something like $500. I guess when it comes right down to it, I’m not too far removed from Homer Simpson.
