It represents a weird dichotomy: Man has dominion over his world from the concept of war or farming (over other men, his land, women, children) but has no control over god’s dominion, the world as a whole.

Accepting environmentalism as necessary or climate change as being real means we have dominion over what was perceived to be gods dominion. And that freaks them out.

And in the political realm, if you frame an election as “Savior v. New World Order Antichrist” (read: Hillary), you get “God Bless President Trump” coming from the mouths of broke barely-middle-class white folks who are one hospital stay away from destitution.

Trump fandom is a religion.
