And the Trump base will turn on the Republican party, or be sufficiently demoralized to not vote. But unfortunately, too many in the Democratic base will think Mission Accomplished and not turn out for the Presidenctial race, forgetting that the Senate races are at least as important, and forget that the moderates would actually vote for a Rubio or Romney.

So it’s still a tossup.

Here’s another fun aspect of this to game out… suddenly we have a Republican primary, some early states (depending on how long this takes) might have to hold second primaries. How do Republican primary voters go - will they support someone who voted to remove Trump? Who jumps in the race to be the Trump standard bearer? Junior (please)? Jim Jordan? Some other idiot? We see full intraparty warfare in the GOP leading to a brokered convention that drags on days…
