Wal-Mart is about to set up a conundrum for me. I really would like to stop throwing money at them, but they are about to build a Market (grocery only store) within walking distance of my house. Every other store in town, including their supercenter, requires me to drive to get there.

Combine driving to the grocery store with other errands. Walk to Walmart occasionally. None of us is pure, just lean towards Truth and Justice. ;)
