Yup. Trump was not subjected to a sustained thirty year attack against here financed by people like the Scafies and the Arkansas Project. Trump got to call it in day after day to Morning Joe.

We live in a country where a long record of public service is a distinct disadvantage.

People were fed up with politicians and politics as usual and DT was able to sell himself successfully as the anti-politician with no record of public service (an only a patchy and largely one-sided record of his private undertakings)
