In a lot of people’s cases, it’s as a result of having been kicked in the teeth before.

I’m aware that I’m supposed to pretend that I don’t recognize any of these names, and that I’m supposed to pretend this is a clean slate, and that I’m supposed to consider how nice and well-meaning everyone who isn’t an ANSWER asshole is.

You know what? Uh-uh. This time the mountain will have to come to Mohammed, so to speak. I’m gonna be a late adapter. If they’re still here in six months and the vile anti-Semitic crap has actually been kept out, and they’ve actually come up with something that stands up to the intellectual rigor of an intelligent eight-year-old, I will look into it.
