She said, "What was her name?" I told her, "Mrs. Jones." She said, and I quote, "Oh my god. That is the most dreadful woman I ever met in my life. If you made her life miserable, I'd like to thank you."
Actually lifted 28 years of guilt right off of me.

Addendum to the Pocket Obama post I made above. The intro to the book is even more scary than what was listed with the ads I have seen at Amazon and other places. I will transcribe it to you here.
"It is an unofficial requirement for every American citizen to own, read, and to carry this book at all times. Printed in a size that easily fits into a pocket or purse, it is comprised of quotations borrowed from the President's speeches and writings. His guiding principle will enlighten the minds of the people and prepare the way for a new era of change.
In order to master the President's ideology, it is essential to study many of the basic concepts over and over again, and it is best to memorize important statements and apply them repeatedly. Learn earnestly and diligently.
Together we can bring about the next great chapter in the American story."
You read it here, folks.

So, lemme ask you Lizards a question:
What with the Cult of the One in full swing, should I get suppliers lined up for the statuettes, figurines, and other party-approved knick-knacks? I know a guy in the PRC whose shop used to do jade Mao works (pendants, necklaces, bi disks, tea pots, the whole megillah), and wonder whether he shouldn't fire up to make idols of the latest socialist godling.
Sounds like a good plan to make some money. The Demonratic party headquarters in my county had a shrine set up for JFK. A large portrait on a shelf, with flowers and candles around it. I don't recall anything like that at the Republican headquarters, only that it was located next to a gun shop.

Apply for government loan guarantees. Hurry and get your request in the stimulus package.
Funny thing about that - suppliers in China have gotten really leery about dealing with Americans lately. Used to be, 30% up-front, and the rest after delivery and upon approval; now, I get "100% T/T or IRC, upfront" every time on every contract. Thought it was just me, but find a number of others are experiencing similar problems. Asked one guy I knew and trusted about it, he said, in essence "It's not that we don't trust you, it's just that we'd rather make sure you guys have the money now. We doubt whether you could get it later."

Product description from Amazon:Product Description
This is the little blue book that right-wing partisans love to hate. Printed in a size that easily fits into pocket or purse, POCKET OBAMA is an anthology of quotations borrowed from Barack Obama's speeches and writings, intended to keep the momentum going for those inspired by his message of hope and change. The portable book serves as a reminder of the remarkable ability of this man to move people with his words, a primer for readers who want to examine the substance of his thought and reflect on the next great chapter in the American story. His captivating oratory has earned comparisons to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, and this collection presents words that catapulted his remarkable rise to the American Presidency and set a true course for the future. Includes themes of democracy, politics, war, terrorism, race, community, jurisprudence, faith, personal responsibility, national identity, and above all, his hoped-for vision of a new America. POCKET OBAMA is essential reading as we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin the work of remaking America.
Oh, gag me!

Walter...I've seen you speaking of "The Little Blue Book" for three weeks (or so) thought it was a running gag.
Holy crap! You weren't kidding!

I just checked the Amazon link that you posted, and saw that they are also offering Alinsky's book. You can *look inside* but when I asked to see the SURPRISE ME! page, it wanted a password. No way am I going to do that! Is Amazon in these guys pocket as well?

Sounds like it was written for the purpose of hypnotizing 3rd graders.
You'd think. But I bet many college grads are totally enthralled by it.

This has to be a prank of some kind because of it isn't we're in for a world of hurt here. Bad enough that libs on Obama's email list get bombarded with 'do this, do that', 'watch this video', 'organize this party' crap.
OMG.

Did you try "Little Blue Book" or "Obama" for the password?

Something like that; he strikes me as being the guy who always showed up when you had some, never had any when you didn't, and would be sure to pay you the next time he got some cash.

In this beautiful book. In it you will find an abundance of inspirational quotes from many of Obamas best speech writers.
Some reviewer...funny stuff.

Is there any possibility--any possibility at all--that the "Pocket Obama" is an exercise in extremely deadpan satire?
Or not?
I would say extreme possibility. Especially with the name "little blue book" and the "unofficial requirement to carry at all times."
Surely, they aren't THAT overt.

Hahaha! Comments from your link:
I bought this book and read some of it to my landlord. Guess what?! He said I didn't have to pay rent any more! And when I went to fill up my gas tank, the service attendant saw my book, winked, and said, "No charge!" At the DMV, standing behind 30+ others, I held up my pocket Obama and was immediately ushered to the front of the line!
Wow! At just $5.95, what a great investment! It's like an all-access pass and everything is free!
Thanks, Mr. Obama!

That's what I am trying to find out. The company seems to have a large product line, and it's all legit history based products. Without reading each and every book and printed item they offer, I can't tell if they have some radical editorial bent, but...
It's possible that they decided to do this as total satire, with out even the barest suggestion that it is satire, which of course, defines satire.

Ok funny story lizards. I'm watching NCIS on the tube.. the beginning shows everybody in a sex harassment class..
I worked for the DOD during tailhook and we went to 8 FRIGGING HOURS of class in the auditorium... Here is what is funny.. A bunch of us all came into the job at the same time..Many were very attractive women college grads.
We all became close and fast friends..going to weddings, watching our babies being born...Super Bowl parties...
We all sat together during our schooling...In the back..And this girls kept whispering the most dirtiest, blue jokes you can even imagine..just to get us to laugh.. One girl kept leaning forward saying.. i swear hoopster I'll make you laugh out loud after lunch...We were great friends...I miss them..
NCIS opening just made me remember what great friends I had working in the DOD.

DO you know what burning weed does to jade? Neither do I; not a bad idea.
Jade is a conductor of heat. I doubt anything like that would hurt it. Try wrapping a strand of hair around a piece of jade and then apply a flame. The hair does not burn. Great test for real jade.

If you press A, you'll select the list. Open up a new Word document, then press V to paste it. Then save it as and where you'd like. It's in two parts because it's too may characters for one post.

Thank you my friends....
Kind regards my friend..This is a dead thread.. so I'll post this..
Don't download the prayer list...Just don't..
When you read that list with the heart of gold you have..
Say a silent prayer to God for those you wish to comfort...That tear in your eye is more important to God that all the lists taped up to your wall or filed away..I've only learned a couple things in my life about Religion..
God only cares about purity in heart and love..
The rest is all bullshit...
