Galloway Stoned in Egypt

World • Views: 4,289

A humanitarian convoy bound for Gaza, led by malevolent British MP George Galloway, has been attacked in Egypt: George Galloway stoned in Egypt.

A humanitarian convoy led by maverick MP George Galloway, carrying medical supplies for Gaza has come under attack in Egypt.

The convoy, carrying aid worth 1m, was pelted with stones and vandalised after it stopped in El-Arish, a small town around 28 miles from the Rafah border crossing with Gaza.

“It’s an absolute disgrace,” convoy organiser Yvonne Ridley told AFP. “The power was cut. Under cover of darkness members of our convoy were attacked with stones.

”Vandals also wrote dirty words and anti-Hamas slogans,“ she said. ”Several people in the convoy were injured in the attack.”

Anti-Hamas slogans! The nerve!

Didn't you run something on this, Charles:

In early February it emerged that three Islamist terror suspects arrested in northwest England had planned to leave the country under cover of Mr Galloway's convoy. Intelligence sources said the men were planning a terrorist operation abroad.

4 Dark_Falcon  Sun, Mar 8, 2009 9:51:10pm

"humanitarian"? How is humanitarian to carry supplies to a place where you know they will be stolen by a terrorist organization and used to further terror and oppression. Galloway is scum and I hope Egypt ships him back to the UK posthaste. Actually, I hope they find something to charge him with and put him in a cell, where he belongs.

Egypt should take a very close look at the people in the convoy, going in and coming back. If any of them turn out to be terrorists, said terrorists and the convoy leaders should be imprisoned.

re: #26 Sharmuta

Here's Yvonne Ridley whining about Da Jooos influence in North Africa.
Has to be read to be believed:

Interpal news cheers convoy

I promised to write a daily log of my time on the Viva Palestina convoy but my attempts to keep you updated with events have been thwarted ever since we reached North Africa.

There is a very clear agenda by some to keep Gaza out of the news and I am dismayed by the Zionist influence brought to bear in the Maghreb.

First there is the logisitical nightmare of trying to find wifi on the move, or an internet cafe during late night stopovers.

Secondly, internet cafes are few and far between on the open roads and we've seen a lot of them since we entered Morocco and Algeria where both governments seemed keen to keep us out of the main towns and cities.

Well the only reason I give them that is because they were elected in. Not that it justifies one thing that they have done. I mean Hitler was elected as well, so democracy does have that going against itself. It is the best thing we have though so you have to work through the bad.

1. I get the humor but I don't get how this is any type of "poetic justice" ?
If the "perps." are "anti Hamas" Galloway and co. will just use this to garner more sympathy for the Pals., no ? Trying to block desperately needed supplies to woman and children and all...
If pro Hamas/Pali. types were the ones that did this then it would be poetic justice or am I missing something ? I'm not stating this, I'm asking. If I'm wrong then I have to do a bit more reading because I'm missing something. Please explain but do it nicely ... I've been out of circulation for awhile now and I know I need to do some catching up. Thanks !

Check this out. Ha'aretz refers to this (the same incident?) as a clash between the convoy and Egyptian security forces.

Interesting.

re: #199 SanFranciscoZionist

Check this out. Ha'aretz refers to this (the same incident?) as a clash between the convoy and Egyptian security forces.

The convoy includes 12 ambulances, a fire engine, and more than 1.4 million dollars-worth of aid.

12 ambulances....I think they mean Hamas Troop carriers...and on a fire truck, they should be able to transport an entire platoon...:P

Back on topic: "Galloway Stoned in Egypt".

I'm grateful I'm not famous, else there might have been a "Behemoth Stoned in Holland" headline some years ago. Don't need that getting spread around.

Makes you wonder about the ones that got away. What were the 9 that were arrested involved with and were they going to be taken back into Gaza? I see no end in this. None of these people can be trusted.

Relax, after it's been beaten into your head often enough you will learn. I used to be the same way. I managed to finally learn the signals to pick up on. Also I learned what to look for before deciding to intercept said signals.

It is clear, Mr. Galloway, that these noble people do not want decadent Westerners like you interfering in their business.

229 Blackacre  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 3:36:57am

Yvonne Ridley has no luck. Cynthia McKinney and the "SS Dignity." And now this. ... "Thanks, Alex, I'd like to buy a clue ...."

230 Render  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 4:13:41am

Fatah supporters and/or the Egyptian government.

Al Arish's refugee camps (at least five of them) are or were filled to the brim with Gazan's who only just recently escaped from Hamas death grip. Lots of Fatah supporters and members in those camps.

Mubarek and the Egyptian government support Fatah. The Muslim Brotherhood which hates the Egyptian government is Hamas with Iranian Mullah spicing.

Galloway is not even supposed to be allowed inside Egypt, after he publicly insulted Mubarek and called for the violent overthrow of the Egyptian government.

Under no circumstances would I take Ridley's word for this event, or anything else she's involved in.

235 Dom  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 7:16:58am

I'm not usually inclined to celebrate anyone's misfortune. In fact I don't, and I shall hold out hope that if Ridley and Galloway et. al. are spared harm the world will be no worse off, such that meanly wishing them harm would at least be pointless. May they enjoy good health but in every other way be entirely frustrated. I have heard Ridley speak viciously at charity events, quite overruling any pretence that InterPal funds are used for peaceable and charitable projects by asking audiences to dig deep and fund every bullet and bomb Hamas can get their hands on. No surprise the Sinai doesn't welcome this hardened Muslim Brotherhood lackey with open arms.

Ah, a new verse must be added to the "Diana Oughton Lied," showering glory on Galloway for his glorious sacrifice to the cause.

Oops, he's not yet dead according to the latest partei sources. Oops again, I meant news sources.

All glory to the partei and our Messiah; Oooooh!

242 Right Brain  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 9:42:10am

Galloway is at least as delusional as any client in the Penn & Teller piece posted here.

243 EE  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 10:35:44am

Galloway's notion that "We are all Hamas" was shown to be not true. Not in Egypt.
Three cheers for Egypt, for the Egyptians, and for Pres. Mubarak.

Should be titled:
Galloway's Convoy Stoned in Egypt

Deceptive headlines tch tch.... making me read an article in which that there traitor to humanity gets off free of anything bad again while pissing on the world and directly helping terrorists... Can't Britain lock this asshole up for this blatant support of Hamas?

245 phillies2008  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 11:32:19am

Today's word is "Schadenfreude."

246 deegee  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 12:03:30pm

Who did the damage to the convoy? Most likely the Iranian Press are correct, Palestinian Fatah supporters in El Arish.

Who stood by and let it happen/ encouraged it? The Egyptian police. What did George Galloway expect after this?

"So I call, in conclusion, on the great people of Egypt, on the heroic armed forces of Egypt, and the heroic army of Egypt of 1973, to rise up and sweep away this tyrant Mubarak".

The main purpose of this trip was publicity. Viva Palestina wanted a mile long convoy of trucks to enter Gaza in a blaze of glory. If the Egyptians allow only the contents of the trucks and even then a little at a time there will be no media event. What a waste of a trip!

If Viva Palestina had actually wanted the greatest amount of aid to reach Gaza in the shortest possible time they would have donated it to the 14 British charities collecting it. The alternative was to load it into half a dozen shipping containers and truck over European highways, then put on a ship from Greece or Turkey. Not exciting but it would have reached Gaza two weeks ago.

The irony is that if as is likely the Egyptians will not allow convoy vehicles to path they will be left to crumble in the desert. As if what Gaza really needed was over one hundred vehicles of different makes and models for a place with little petrol and no spare parts.

247 Joel  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 1:04:40pm

Somehow I hope something dreadful happens to both Yvonne Ridley and George Galloway in either Sinai or Gaza.

248 Henchman Ghazi-808  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 1:15:57pm

252 mrkwong  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 5:19:56pm

Clearly, this is a crime.

I refer, of course, to the inadequate armament of the citizens of Egypt.

If Mr Galloway and Ms Ridley will repeat their convoy effort, I'll happily contribute $10 toward an RPG fund.

253 DavidSweden  Mon, Mar 9, 2009 11:28:15pm

Very interesting... any info on who the people were? Copts? -or simply Hamas-hostile arabs? More info? Again, a very interesting incident, more info appreciated!
