Breitbart Blogger Ben Shapiro Calls Rep. Wasserman Schultz a ‘Bag O’ Scum’

Getting even more idiotic and offensive
Wingnuts • Views: 23,551

Another day, another ridiculous fake outrage from the clowns at breitbart.com, as they dig up a six-year old photo to scream about: Obama’s ‘Jewbag’ Liaison to the Jewish Community.

The Democratic Party, which comfortably assumes that it has the Jewish vote in their pocket, doesn’t think much of Jews. The latest incident pulling the veil off their contempt? Facebook photos of the Democratic National Committee’s Jewish outreach liason, Dani Gilbert, showing her kissing cash while the caption underneath says “JEWBAGS.” A comment on the side calls Gilbert and her pals, “The Jew cash money team.” Other photos show Gilbert partying with a bunch of condoms. Gilbert has been a staffer under Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who, when President Obama suggested Israel should retreat to its pre-1967 borders, demanded that Jewish Republicans “pledge to refrain” from using that against Obama in 2012.

This is so amazingly stupid, there’s not much to say about it, except: does Breitbart blogger William Bigelow understand that all the women in that oh-so-damning photo are … Jewish?

Meanwhile, Breitbart blogger Ben Shapiro promoted this idiotic post on Twitter by calling Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz a “Bag O’ Scum:”

It’s no mystery why so many commenters at breitbart.com are deranged, hateful, and angry — the tone is set by the site’s writers.

UPDATE at 4/3/12 1:11:43 pm

By the way, Bigelow’s claim that Debbie Wasserman Schultz asked Jewish Republicans not to use Obama’s statement about Israel’s pre-1967 borders against him is simply false. The truth is that Rep. Wasserman Schultz asked the Republican Jewish Coalition to “pledge to refrain in 2012 from using Israel as part of the issues in campaigns.” It had absolutely nothing to do with Obama’s statement about Israel’s borders.

So now we can add outright dishonesty to the mix.

Not so commonly used, and more derogatory, I'd say. It just means 'being cheap in a steroetypically Jewish manner', or otherwise acting Jewish. It's used by Jews and by antisemites, as is typical with slurs.

This is the first time that I have ever heard it.

30 Talking Point Detective  Tue, Apr 3, 2012 1:17:36pm

Suppose the caption used JAP instead of Jewbag. I can't see how that would get much attention. It's funny how different insults have different rules about how they can and can't be used. Why is "JAP" considered less offensive than "cheap Jew?" I have to wonder if it isn't because JAP is intrinsically directed towards women, and so therefore couldn't be as offensive?

An analogy:

A bunch of white guys posing with fried chicken and watermelon with a caption like "We're just like a bunch of stereotypical black people" = racist and offensive.

A bunch of black guys posing with fried chicken and watermelon with a caption like "We're just like a bunch of stereotypical black people" = not racist and not offensive. Instead, this would usually be considered satirical.

The right-wing has proven time and again that they don't get this concept called "context." This is just another example of the same.

I'm surprised that with as many tornadoes as this country has every year, we don't get more horrible tragedies like this. Even the biggest city has a relatively small area. The chances of a city getting hit vs. the farmland and small towns is relatively small. Last year was beyond bizarre, with, what 11-13 significant cities damaged?

Those cities being Raleigh NC, Fayetteville NC, Wilson NC, Jacksonville NC, Tuscaloosa AL, Birmingham AL, St. Louis MO, Joplin MO, Minneapolis MN, Moore OK, and Springfield MA. I think I might have missed one or two. You might be able to count OKC depending on your definition of OKC.

87 Gus  Tue, Apr 3, 2012 1:47:06pm

Sure enough. Over at Godfather Politics:

Intelligent Design, Evolution Clash in Courtroom

Opponents often complain that ID is not testable. But then neither is evolution. Evolution “experiments” that change the genes of fruit flies or other simple organisms involve actual manipulation by scientists — ironically, closer to a case for intelligent design than evolution.

Opponents of ID who point to a link with creationism are often overreacting out of prejudice, but there is one valid point in the observation. Belief in the Bible is a good thing, but the Bible should not be the starting point of a scientific theory. It brings with it too many assumptions that will affect the assessment of scientific data.

The same can be said, however, about evolutionary assumptions. Scientists may overlook obvious conclusions that are right in front of them.

A renewed commitment to real scientific values would allow for an open, healthy debate of different viewpoints, even those that challenge current thinking. In the end, ID and evolutionary science need each other.

If this douchenozzle really cared about donating to Planned Parenthood instead of just being a self-promoting dick, he would have done it anonymously or with no strings attached:

Planned Parenthood Turns Down $500,000 From Tucker Max

After the Texas state legislature cut off Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood Texas because it offers abortion services, the family planning organization began looking for alternate funding. But that doesn't mean it will take money from just anyone.

Planned Parenthood Dallas allegedly refused a $500,000 donation from "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell" author Tucker Max, who wanted to decrease his tax burden and decided to make a donation large enough for Planned Parenthood to name a clinic after him.

Max, who has written about women in a controversial and degrading manner, has in the past made extremely offensive comments about Planned Parenthood and the women who seek health care there on his Twitter account. He tweeted in July 2011 that "Planned Parenthood would be cooler if it was a giant flight of stairs, w/someone pushing girls down, like a water park slide."

Or, Spike Lee can make "Bamboozled". Very few other directors could

I'd contest that they increased their volume and stridency, but that there's no real intellectual transformation. This is the stuff they were thinking and discussing quietly in small groups.

Obama is a sign that Everything is Going Wrong, so they're getting louder.

And between a basically sensationalist media and very cynical men that don't like central government obstructing their profit margins, there's a whole line of folks who are willing to give them a platform.

You get up to check if tornadoes are on the way, The thunder is booming and you try to sleep..But everytime a clap of thunder goes off somebodies car alarm goes off in the parking lot...Soon 3 or more start going off..And you are praying people get up and turn off the alarm..Which happens till the next clap shakes the house and new alarms start going off...You lay there wondering..Is that my car? Sounds like it...BOOM! Crap..Now I know that's my car.. So you get up and press the button..And of course that set my alarm off..Pressing button frantically cursing...Go back to bed..BOOM!
More car alarms go off..
OH Come on! Is that my car?

Trying hard to understand the scandal here. But failing. 6 years ago, a bunch of college age Jewish women were hired to outreach in the Jewish community for Wasserman a Jewish candidate. In a light hearted party moment that I would expect from college women of that age they referred to themselves as the Jew cash money team. I don't get it. They were the Jew cash money team. We are supposed to be outraged? Their role was to raise money and awareness in the Jewish community. The fact that they joked about sterotypes of themselves in the images is an outrage? For whom? Certainly not for Florida Jews. Ask a Jew in Florida if they mind that they were targeted as Jews for fundraising for a Jewish candidate in Florida who wanted to represent (among others) Jews in Florida. Ask a Jew in Florida if they mind that the 2o year old Jews that did the fundraising referred to themseleves as Jewbags or the Jewish cash money team. They dont. Ask a Jew in Florida if they take offense to Wasserman Schultz being referred to in a derogatory way and they will care. More than that, I suspect many of them will say that its anti Semitic. Once again, I believe the right simply doesn't get it. This will not help them with the Jewish community.

I haven't looked, but I imagine the wingnuts are in full derp mode today over this:

Obama Attacks Romney, Republican Party In Fiery Budget Speech (VIDEO)

In the fieriest speech of his presidency Tuesday, Barack Obama lit into the Republican Party’s vision for the country’s future as outlined in the House GOP budget, and endorsed by his most likely election rival Mitt Romney.

Obama decried key planks of the Republican agenda — particularly calls for large tax cuts for wealthy Americans, and a plan to phase out traditional Medicare — which he took care to describe accurately, though in hostile terms.

And in response to questions from the audience, Obama urged the press not to confuse rancor over the parties’ competing visions for the country as typical partisan bitterness for which Democrats and Republicans are equally culpable.

Chiding Republicans for not learning anything from the failure of trickle-down policies that defined the last decades, Obama attacked the GOP budget head-on. “They have proposed a budget so far to the right it makes the Contract for America look like the New Deal,” he said. “In fact, that renowned liberal, Newt Gingrich, first called the original version of the budget radical. He said it would contribute to right-wing social engineering. … This is now the party’s governing platform. This is what they are running on. One of my potential opponents, Gov. Romney, has said he hopes a similar version of this plan from last year would be introduced as a bill on Day One of his presidency.”

Teleprompters! Dignity of the office! Socialist! ZOMG HE'S SO MEAN! Eleventy!
