He thinks we're stupid. Hell with the welfare bullshit, you had the Republican who wrote the welfare reform bill that got signed by Clinton into law calling him out. So Mitt has his own saying "Mitt, tell the truth." This race in an ideal world would be a landslide but because Mitt gets tons of money from wealthy Obama haters, it's a race.

I know, poor Mitt has been so nice to Obama. I mean it's not like he never said that the president has never held down a real job before or claimed that his supporters support him because they want free stuff from the government. Poor Mitt. He can't catch a break from the mean Obama campaign.

Yunno, if I had lived in Massachusetts, I could well have voted for Mitt. I used to appreciate any GOP candidate who was reasonable on social issues and seemed to have reasonable ideas about health care and supporting government programs that benefitted everyone.

The same thing that happened to McCain. He gave up what principles he had in an attempt to become POTUS. (The main difference between McCain and Romney to a large degree is deciding how much principle Romney started this process with compared to McCain.)

Thing is, there was a time when my only major problem with the GOP was over social issues. There was a socon wing of the party, but they were kept in check by the pragmatists in the party.
And I preferreed a government that did not involve itself in the markets, but merely regulated them to the extent necessary to assure that they functioned without intervention.
Then came Bush...and the rest is history.

I just got off the phone with my son. They are keeping my grandson in the hospital for another day, but he came out of the spinal tap (they will not get the results for a while). My son gave him the phone and he tried to eat it, and laughed and giggled so I know he's OK.
