Why Conservatives Shouldn’t Attempt Humor, Dana Perino Edition

Just a little more unfunny, patronizingly racist “humor” from Fox News
Wingnuts • Views: 27,023

Why do conservatives think they’re funny? And more to the point, why do they think it’s absolutely hilarious to make fun of black music?

Because it really isn’t. Case in point:

Because Obama sucks, socialism is bad unkay, and liberals hate Merica.

Anyone who has penned love letters to Michele Bachmann and Sharron Angle is..uh…probably not the right guy to talk about “facing facts”. Time for this old goat to be put out to pasture.

“Get away with” is a pretty slippery statement when they’re shills for a party who’s main candidate was so obviously courting racists that he got 0% of the black vote.

11 stabby  Sun, Apr 14, 2013 11:33:55am

You can get away with a LOT when you don’t mind offending 100% of black people.

Rubio: ‘I hope we’ll talk about’ fewer background checks

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) says that he would like to weaken existing gun control laws with any new legislation by decreasing the number of background checks required for people who apply for concealed carry permits in multiple states.

During an interview on Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace asked Rubio if his filibuster of a bill to expand background checks to include gun shows and Internet sales meant that he would also vote against the final bipartisan legislation.

“Well to be fair, I haven’t read it in its totality, but I can tell you this, I am very skeptical of any plan that deals with the Second Amendment because invariably these gun laws end up impeding on the rights of people to bear arms who are law abiding and do nothing to keep criminals from buying them,” the Florida Republican opined. “Criminals don’t care what the law is.”

In GOP world, its easier to buy a gun than cast a vote.

16 blueraven  Sun, Apr 14, 2013 11:48:23am

She should have stopped at “Rap is such a complicated form of music”

I almost said that while criminals might not care, gun dealers do. Then I remembered that the gun shop that sold Nancy Lanza her arsenal had racked up 500 violations of state and federal laws and not been shut down.

What’s the right wing site wher people go crazy over the first lady? Is it Foxnews or just Fox or something like that? THe reason I ask is that on Slate there was a piece about TIger Woods’ non disqualification. I notice that the commenters there weren’t really outragede about anybody else’s rule infractions except Tiger’s. One guy even compared Tiger Woods with Ben Roethlesberger, an accused rapist. I was curious is any of these people also comment over there.

That’s because once you have enough like-minded people (read: racist, bigoted paranoid nutjobs) with guns, then you can attempt to intimidate voters and influence elections.

Not saying it’ll happen in America to any appreciable extent, but there have been places where it has, IIRC.

Funny White Girl Rap

40 kerFuFFler  Sun, Apr 14, 2013 12:44:32pm

Dana’s parody was particularly pathetic and not at all funny unless you want to believe and laugh at the idea that blacks are untalented and don’t create good music. Frankly I don’t enjoy rap at all——with the possible exception of “The Revolution Will not be Televised”——but I do love and appreciate a lot of music that talented black performers, songwriters and composers produced throughout the twentieth century. Trying to diss and laugh at black musicians for not producing “complicated” music with such a shoddy parody only reveals profound ignorance, and a sense of insecurity so overwhelming that the contributions of others cannot be acknowledged. What a disgraceful news personality and network.

On a scale from 1 to 10, Dana Perino’s performance is best expressed as an imaginary number (complex number with no real component).

In other words, as a rapper, Dana Perino is an excellent short-order cook.
