The cognitive dissonance it takes to even think something like this is really mind-boggling.

TRAITOR ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLIGOONS

The idiot, leftist-loon, statist RepbuliGoons that control the RepbuliGoon faction of the constitution-contemptuous DemonKrap & RepubliGoon ruling duopoly have spit in the faces of true conservatives, i.e. ones who actually revere the constitution rather than just give it lip-service. They did this by making Leftist-loon Eric Cantor’s clone the new majority leader. With McCarthy, It will be business-as-usual, Chamber Of Commerece-keester-kissing open-borders, bigger-more-controlling-and-more-spending government a la phony conservative Bush and his bigger government schemes. They along with the evil DemonKraps are nothing more than Tyranny Party excrement-bagger puppets.

NOTE:
Unlike the Tea Party patriots who revere the Constitution and it precepts of a constitutionally limited Federal Government, 10th Amendment state’s rights and 9th Amendment guaranteed individual liberties, MSNBC/NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN/MTV/Huff-Post/Wa Po/NYT-indoctrinated and propagandized, amoral post-modernist,
constitution-contemptuous, traitorous, racist, sexist, baby-butchering, sodomy-celebrating, marriage-devaluing, rights-from-government-not-from-God believing, 2nd Amendment-hating, innocents-murdering, criminal and domestic terrorist-empowering, illegal alien foreign invader enabling, societal-parasite-pandering
Tyranny Party excrement-baggers smear the constitution, and the blood of those who died to defend it, with the pathogenic excreta of elitist, fascist contempt drawn from their ever-present, power-and-control-greedy, liberty-hating,

From the same interview GG is praising, a couple more “tough & uncomfortable questions to the Cheneys”:

“When the president came into office, President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, came into office, the vice president was celebratory about the situation in Iraq, and said that it may be one of their greatest successes. That’s how he described it in 2010. That Iraq could be one of the Obama administration’s greatest successes, he predicted. Do you think, let me give this one to you Liz, do you think that that is a game changer, in terms of the political way this is playing out, for all the people that want to blame the Cheneys and the Bushes?”

And:

“These are questions that are out there, and that are being raised, and who better to respond to them than you. And I know that, now you’ve formed this group, and your group wants to reverse President Obama’s policies, that I know, you, mister Vice President believe have endangered America’s security. First tell us why you think that and tell us you you think, you know, this non-profit group can do anything to stop a President?”

And:

“Do you think President Obama is dangerous?”

And here was Kelly ranting just a day before:

mediaite.com

“Breaking tonight: is Barack Obama’s presidency imploding? Al Qaeda is re-surging, Iraq is disintegrating, and now we may look to Iran to help us stop it. Iran. A terrorist regime responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans. What could possibly go wrong? We draw red lines in Syria we refuse to enforce, we stood by as Russia seized part of Ukraine and now we are releasing top Taliban leaders as the Afghanistan war is still going. Not to worry, they tell us, Qatar is going to watch them, for a year, we hope.

“Domestically we have a president who has lost the trust of the American people by repeatedly misleading them. He bypasses Congress, the People’s representatives. On matters ranging from ObamaCare to immigration law, to the point where one of the most respected liberal law professors in the country has called our president the very danger our Constitution was designed to avoid.”

“The American public overwhelmingly regrets ObamaCare, our veterans are dying waiting to see doctors, the IRS intimidates conservative groups, the southern border is compared to a sieve, and the President assures us not to worry. Smiling. Golfing. And at this very moment, partying with fashion queen Anna Wintour. Because the fundraising never stops. Not when four Americans die in Benghazi, and not when Baghdad is at the brink.”

One Friday night in the “Tabernacle of the Third Coming”, a man near Tod stood up to speak. Although his name most likely was Thompson or Johnson and his home town Sioux City, he had the same counter-sunk eyes, like the heads of burnished spikes, that a monk by Magnasco might have.

He was very angry. The message he had brought to the city was one that an illiterate anchorite might have given decadent Rome. It was a crazy jumble of dietary rules, economics and Biblical threats. He claimed to have see the Tiger of Wrath stalking the walls of the citadel and the Jackal of Lust skulking in the shrubbery, and he connected these omens with “thirty dollars every Thursday and meat eating.” Tod didn’t laugh at the man’s rhetoric. He knew it was unimportant. What mattered were his hearers. They sprang to their feet, shaking their fists and shouting. On the altar, someone began to beat a bass drum and soon the entire congregation was singing “Onward Christian Soliders.”

What is that even supposed to mean? WTF do terrorists in Iraq have to do with-law abiding American Muslims? Or maybe she thinks Christians in the U.S. should be more like ISIS and destroy mosques? For the those who are geologically curious about the photo - it’s Paleozoic sedimentary rocks in northwestern Malaysia. Siltstone, sandstone, and upper layers of limestone that have been heavily folded and partially metamorphized. From a quarry made into the edge of a bukit (hill). Most of the quarries in Malaysia are like this since the water table is quite high.

Many of the bukits also have caves since they’re karst formation where rain water percolates through them from the top, dissolves limestone on the way down, and flows out the bottom. Rain more, and repeat. Also some lower level caves from the land being lower (or sea higher) and thus allowing cave formation due to direct erosion by wave action.

Or, to the layman, SHINY ROCKS!

Those were less metamorphized than the stuff around Philadelphia. The latter (Wissahickon Formation) has generally cooked enough for the quartz and mica to layer and make it shiny. The layers in the Malaysia picture had been deformed heavily, but apparently not been heated as hot or for as long. But still messed with enough that finding fossils in them would be a slim proposition. Which was disappointing to my palentologist brother, but he still found Malaysian geology interesting due to its complexity.

Actually, more than just an Italian victory tomorrow.

England need Cesare Prandelli’s side [Italy] to win BOTH their final two fixtures - against Costa Rica tomorrow, and Uruguay next week. Anything else, and the Three Lions cannot match the points totals of either of the sides from the Americas.

Then England must beat Costa Rica in their final match - and beat them well - and hope that they can do enough to finish in second place on goal difference.

I’m also wonder what makes us think Iran might be a constructive partner in creating a multicultural Iraq. Iran has used it’s influence in Lebanon and Syria to create ethic tensions and bloodshed. Previous attempts to get cooperation in Iraq and Afghanistan have ended up with them assisting insurgents and supplying explosives. I don’t know why this time might be different.

US officials are actively pushing for the removal of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki and have held meetings with senior politicians who are angling to replace the embattled leader, according to Iraqi officials and a report Thursday.

The U.S. ambassador to Baghdad, Robert S. Beecroft, and a senior State Department official, Brett McGurk, met this week with former Iraqi exile leader Ahmad Chalabi and parliament speaker Usama Nujaifi, as well as other possible candidates to replace Maliki.

The Shiite Muslim prime minister has seen large chunks of Iraq seized in recent days by Sunni militants fighting under the banner of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, an Al Qaeda splinter group.

Chalabi? Srsly?! Reeks of desperation. Just freaking reeks.

Falling out with the U.S. in 2004-2005[edit]
As Chalabi’s position of trust with the Pentagon crumbled, he found a new political position as a champion of Iraq’s Shi’ites (Chalabi himself is a Shi’ite). Beginning 25 January 2004, Chalabi and his close associates promoted the claim that leaders around the world were illegally profiting from the Oil for Food program. These charges were around the same time that UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi indicated that Chalabi would likely not be welcome in a future Iraqi government. Up until this time, Chalabi had been mentioned formally several times in connection with possible future leadership positions. Chalabi contends that documents in his possession detail the misconduct, but he has yet to provide any documents or other evidence. The U.S. has sharply criticized Chalabi’s Oil for Food investigation as undermining the credibility of its own.
Additionally, Chalabi and other members of the INC have been being investigated for fraud involving the exchange of Iraqi currency, grand theft of both national and private assets, and many other criminal charges in Iraq. On 19 May 2004 the U.S. government discontinued their regular payments to Chalabi for information he provided. Then on 20 May, Iraqi police supported by U.S. soldiers raided his offices and residence, taking documents and computers, presumably to be used as evidence. A major target of the raid was Aras Habib, Chalabi’s long-term director of intelligence, who controls the vast network of agents bankrolled by U.S. funding.

Uh, all of that is based on this paragraph from the NY Times.

Over the past two days the American ambassador, Robert S. Beecroft, along with Brett McGurk, the senior State Department official on Iraq and Iran, have met with Usama Nujaifi, the leader of the largest Sunni contingent, United For Reform, and with Ahmad Chalabi, one of the several potential Shiite candidates for prime minister, according to people close to each of those factions, as well as other political figures.

Beecroft and McGurk met with Chalabi, a Shiite, at his house in Baghdad’s Mansour neighborhood for more than an hour Wednesday, said a Chalabi aide, Entifadh Qanbar. They discussed “the current security escalations and future formations of the government,” Qanbar said. He declined to elaborate.

A second suspect wanted in the death of a US border official has been extradited to the US, in a case linked to a botched gun-running sting.

Lionel Portillo-Meza pleaded not guilty in the death of Brian Terry in an Arizona court on Wednesday.

Weapons found at the scene of his death were linked to a US anti-gun-running scheme called Fast and Furious.

Under the programme, the US allowed criminals to purchase guns in order to trace them to major arms traffickers.

A.) It’s good we got the guy, though Obama’s critics will treat it as another convenient distraction.

B.) It’s disappointing to see the BBC post such a deceptive description of F&F. The people who were “allowed” to purchase the guns had every legal right to do so. They were suspected straw buyers, but had no convictions. The law doesn’t allow the government to deny a gun sale to a suspected criminal who isn’t on trial and/or hasn’t been convicted of any crime. Even if the buyer is on State aid and is purchasing 20 firearms at a pop.

The real reason the GOP objected to F&F was that ATF agents were trying to do something at all to shine light on the problem of straw purchases. The entire notion that sales were allowed that otherwise would not have been legal on their face is a total lie.

The entire point of the F&F investigation was that the private party transfer loophole and its lack of a requirement for background checks and strict record keeping is a huge problem.

C.) Maybe this isn’t totally relevant, but they have no idea what gun fired the bullet that killed Brian Terry. They don’t know whether it was an F&F weapon. They don’t know (I haven’t even seen speculation) whether it was a case of friendly fire.

Sterling Jensen, who served as the U.S. army translator with the Iraqi tribal fighters during the surge in 2007 and 2008, said U.S. military advisers who remained in Iraq after 2011—when all U.S. troops left—curtailed contact with many of the tribal leaders so as not to anger Maliki’s government.

Some of the Iraqis who could be persuaded to take that lead are the former tribal allies who fought al Qaeda before. U.S. and Iraqi officials say McGurk and other U.S. military officers and diplomats have begun to reach out again in recent months to them.

One of those leaders who have been in renewed contact with the Americans is Ahmed abu-Risha, whose brother was killed in 2007 and was considered the first leader of what became known as the Anbar Awakening.

McGurk has also met with Ali Hatim Suleiman, the head of Iraq’s largest tribe known as the Duleimi. Suleiman said this week that most of the fighters who now control Mosul, the city that fell earlier this month, are not affiliated with ISIS. But he also warned that there would be no chance to put down the insurgency if Maliki remained in power.

Brooke would not say if Chalabi was eyeing the top job himself. But he did point out that the former exile leader—who is now a member of parliament and a senior member of the Shi’ite party affiliated with Iraq’s powerful Hakim family—supported the creation of a national reconciliation committee and the release of Sunni prisoners detained without charge. What’s more, Brooke added, Chalabi “is now open to reconsideration of the national de-Baathification law.”

That’s the law that purged members of Saddam Hussein’s Baathist party from Iraq’s government—the law that Chalabi helped write. Not surprising, the de-Baathification law is one piece of legislation that has infuriated Iraq’s Sunni minority, who say it has been used to isolate their leaders from important national positions.

There was also this: Iraq using barrel bombs, hitting Fallujah hospital: HRW

This is pretty much the opinion of Erin Evers of HRW and not reported or confirmed anywhere else.

hrw.org

First reported by Al Jazeera on May 11, 2014 with no named sources.

aljazeera.com

This story appeared on May 27 in HRW (also quoted by HuffPo, South China Morning Post and on Yahoo the same date); on June 7 FN ran a story on it.

hrw.org

Note HRW’s “methodology” which includes “residents and witnesses from Fallujah, including medical personnel at Fallujah General Hospital, a government security official based in Anbar, and a commander of one of the anti-government armed groups fighting in the province. ” No one from HRW had been in the province or Iraq when this was written.

Its “legal analysis” which includes calling ISIS a “de facto authority” and this, “The armed opposition forces, which include ISIS and groups fighting under the umbrella of the Anbar Military Council, are conducting ongoing operations and appear to meet the organization test.”
