Republicans are completely in favor of poverty, especially if they can manage it so that most of the poor are “deserving” of that condition by GOP standards (e.g., being non-White).
In fact, most Republicans have a deep seated need to see others suffer. Since getting ringside seats to watch the torment of the damned in Hell is a bit out there theologically, even for wingnut Christianity, they try to get their jollies by making life in the US as unpleasant as possible for as many people as possible.

Actually, I have to correct you on that. Many people in right-wing-nutjob-Christianity-land do, in fact, believe that they will be able to gloat and lord it over the poor souls whom they intend on consigning to hell. Which is interesting, considering that it’s supposed to be their job to stop people from going there and they should, according to real theology, be mourning those poor souls instead…

Romney also criticized the Democrats’ “war on poverty,” saying it’s time to abandon the “liberal policies” of President Lyndon Johnson and his successors. “It’s finally time to apply conservative policies that improve America’s education system, promote family formation and create good-paying jobs,” he said, though he avoided any policy specifics.

Whatever the platform, the commentator, talking to survivors and telling the story. Must watch.

Dear Mr. Romney. Here’s a private sector solution the GOP should be able to approve of. Get the main oligarchs in the US into a small room and have them agree to end this business of an engineered over-supply of labor in the US to drive down wages.
If you can’t even attempt something simple like that, then go to hell.

Maybe. But he’s also a calculating mofo, and he may realize that Dana’s right wing gun-loving sex appeal trumps the Ginger Avenger. The Loeschs are highly connected in the GOP, Chuck… not so much.

I’m not so sure. To Limbaugh, he is the GOP. He made the party what it is today. The Loeschs are mere pissants by comparison, and worse, Dana is a competitor. And female.
On the other hand, UpChuck is a totally loathsome human being, says and thinks the same things Limbaugh does, and is someone Limbaugh can easily identify with.

Could this be the straw that broke the camel’s back?
The American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer argued in defense of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s recent prayer rally, claiming that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates and others who opposed it were somehow driven by demonic spirits.
As Right Wing Watch first reported, Fischer blasted the LGBT community over the Jindal news in an installment of his “Focal Point” radio show, claiming that the “homosexual agenda” was tied to a “directly demonic energy.”
“They’re vicious. They are mean,” he said. “You literally are staring into virtually the unvarnished energy of Satan himself when you come up against the forces that are pushing the homosexual agenda forward.”
