Senate Votes to Defund Planned Parenthood

I wrote an obscenity-laced tirade to introduce this story, but then deleted it because it’s not really my style. But once again, the Republican Party shows that they really are absolutely rotten bastards: Senate Votes to End Federal Funding for Planned Parenthood.

In the wake of the murderous attack on the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic, they still go ahead and pander to the right wing extremists in their voting base — of course. They’ll be able to use this pointless vote to bilk the rubes out of some more campaign cash.

But it’s an empty gesture, because President Obama will veto it, and they don’t have the votes to override the veto.

And now I’d better stop before I lapse into obscenities again. Man, I despise these people.

This was the daily double for the GOP - not only are they attempting to defund Planned Parenthood, but they’ve wrapped another Obamacare repeal effort all in one.

Of course, this will be about the 60th attempt to repeal Obamacare, and it will meet the same end. The GOP will posture and preen, and collect donations for standing up against Obama, all while the law continues to protect millions of Americans while the GOP sits on its collective ass and wants to deprive them of access to health insurance.

The GOP is against health care for all Americans. Full stop. This bill is just another reminder of it - the GOP is keen to repeal Obamacare, and they have no replacement plan.

They don’t. Ryan gives away the game when he says that they’ll come up with something in 2016. They have nothing. And any prior plan that they may have tried to move has gone nowhere because they can’t even get support within the caucus. And of those plans, none will cover as many people as Obamacare, and it will end up costing even more than Obamacare to do less.

Or it shifts the burdens onto those least able to afford health care (leading to still more bankruptcies).

Screw the GOP.

Seemingly, it used to be so easy to make it in the fast food industry. Labor was plentiful, and the laws where on the business owner’s side. The formula for success was beautifully simple: serve economical fried-fare, invite a well-recognized clown to amuse the youngsters, and then proceed to hurl the children into a ball-pit. In all seriousness, the fonder days of yesterday are gone, because the new competition alone is greatly affecting established chains in the industry.

The Democrats really need to pull their finger out their arse and start seriously contesting Congress and Senate seats, which given the GOP’s constant attacks on women can be used against them to score more urban areas. Because otherwise it wont matter if they win the Presidency, as a good deal of the first term will be wasted vetoing stupid stuff put up by the useless sacks of crap that is the modern GOP.
