Donald Trump Retweets One of His Favorite White Supremacists AGAIN

No accident
Politics • Views: 64,436

Yes, Donald Trump did it again yesterday; he retweeted a vile white supremacist, a guy he’s retweeted at least five times previously despite being publicly called out for it by many news sources (and by LGF, of course). There’s absolutely no way this can be a coincidence or an accident any more; we have a leading Republican candidate for president who openly, knowingly associates with white supremacists on Twitter.

@keksec__org (who uses the name “Jason Bergkamp”) doesn’t try to hide his racism and antisemitism; in fact, he frequently gloats that Trump retweets him so much. Earlier today Bergkamp posted this to his timeline:

Twitter’s advanced search feature turns up more retweets of this white supremacist by Trump:

And this is not the only white supremacist Trump retweets often; he’s also retweeted @NeilTurner_ at least six times.

A lovely image posted to Neil Turner’s timeline earlier today:

Well, I can’t exactly say I’m surprised.

What I’m wondering, is after Trump slinks off, either from an electoral trouncing or a convention defeat, what becomes of his supporters? They’re not going to go away, I have to think other right wing politicians are looking hungrily at that cesspool of money and stupidity.

Even after Trump goes down this isn’t over.

It always seems like an uphill fight. As long as it seems steeper for the other side (which it does right now) I’m OK with it.

National Review has a better take, of which I’ll post the last paragraph:

As for Tubman, I would argue that she’s not the most influential woman in American history; that honor should rightly belong to Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, the most important of all American novels. But Tubman herself is a worthy honoree, the first ordinary citizen on paper money and a woman of great courage and powerful Christian witness. She was also — this tends to be forgotten today — a nurse and scout during the Civil War and herself a leader of the women’s suffrage movement until her death at 91 in 1913, more than half a century after her “Underground Railroad” exploits. Tubman’s life is not without its own controversies, like her assistance to John Brown in advance of the Harper’s Ferry raid that ended with Brown being hanged for treason (the justification of Brown’s actions is one of the great ethical dilemmas in American history: How far exactly should one go to stop something as bad as slavery?). And if the debates over the $10 and the $20 lead more Americans to learn the flesh-and-blood stories of Hamilton, Jackson, and Tubman, that can’t be a bad thing. They remind us that our politics have always been messy and sometimes bloody.

Read The Whole Thing, which notes the Jackson has only been on the $20 bill since 1928, when he replaced Grover Cleveland.

I saw a tweet last night, which showed maps of two venues where Sanders held big rallies, with tens of thousands of enthusiastic supporters. He hadn’t won any of the precincts surrounding those venues.

So, you can’t assume that sold out events means you’ll win. OTOH, having nothing but EMPTY events probably means you’ll lose. Especially if you have to tell your small audience, “Please clap.”

I would like MLK Jr. to be on the $20 but I think that’s partly because I am huge fan of the television show Fringe.

In one episode, the heroes on our side infiltrate the the mirror universe. A redshirt gets killed and the folks on the other side are confused when they find a $20 with Jackson on it in the guy’s pocket, when they have MLK on theirs:

Downding for your approving link to NRO.

Now here’s a heaping helping of inanity.

“…Conservatives may decry the politically correct identity-politics drive to demand a woman on the money and downgrade Jackson, but it’s worth remembering that Jackson has only been there since 1928, when he replaced Grover Cleveland, and decisions about whom we should honor on our money have always said as much about our values at a given moment as about any historical merit. Jackson was and is a monumental figure in American history, an unapologetic nationalist who left the nation larger and more secure than he found it, bitterly opposed factional threats of secession, and fought for a larger role for the common man in our democracy, and at times in our history, those have been critical values. But Jackson was massively controversial in his own time and ever since for a great many reasons — as controversial as Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Lyndon Johnson, or Woodrow Wilson. And Jackson himself, in life, was never much restrained by the conventions of history. In retrospect, it is surprising he lasted this long on the $20. Contemporary liberals, of course, focus on his record as a slave-owner and his brutal relocation of Native American tribes from the American South. Conservatives to this day have our own particular complaints to add: Jackson was a major influence in turning the federal government into an engine of partisan patronage, setting the model for client-based governing that the Democratic party in particular has followed ever since.

Token Sheriff Clarke: Hillary’s love of hot sauce is as racist as saying ‘watermelon’ to blacks

And although many news outlets have noted that Clinton has had a long-documented obsession with hot sauce, conservative media seized on the comments as evidence that she was pandering.

On Thursday, the hosts of Fox & Friends asked Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who is black, to weigh in

“You know, this stuff is dehumanizing,” he argued. “It’s embarrassing, it’s disgusting.”

Why are conservatives so politically correct?

nope.
The laptop isn’t my main computer. I use it mostly for Skype with MrBWS and for Dropbox board meeting videos from my boss in Illinois.
Something called the “Group Policy Client” quit working, and now the Dropbox videos won’t play (attempting to do so locks up the laptop). My Google investigations all say it’s corrupted registry file(s).
This all started out of nowhere over the weekend.

Never needed that stuff. I don’t like hot sauce to begin with, though it became good trade bait. Now what I had was my grater so I could shred the John Wayne bar into my coffee mug with a bit of creamer and sugar for a mocha. Otherwise after trackpads and road wheels or ham and lima beans (or even worse, ham and eggs, chopped) I considered MREs to be high cuisine.

I was really hoping Bernie would win NY yesterday, if only to hear someone ask Hillary if she’d rule out a 3rd party run if she lost the nomination.

Shit’s set in stone now…at least we’ll have the Benghazi revival to keep us entertained this summer. The GOP thinks that will help them. It won’t. They’re fucked and they need to embrace their fucked-ed-ness.

I see no reason why anyone would ask Hillary about running as a 3rd party even if she’d lost NY, given that she’s lost the nomination before and supported the candidate who won.

I can see why Sanders might get that question, given his history of running as a third party candidate.

I think Linux and OSX users have some sort of magic filter that makes them forget when their machines misbehave…because they do…at least as often as windows.

I used OSX as a daily driver for 6 years, been much happier since coming back to windows. The windows blue screen is no more common than the OSX grey screen.

I have been a Linux user (and lover) since slackware was the hot distribution back in the early 90s. Linux is great for a lot of things but a desktop machine is not it. Yeah, I can MAKE it do just about anything I need it to, but I don’t want to have to make my machine do something, I just want it to do it. If all I was using it for was web surfing from my couch, I guess it would be fine, but I want to be able to plug the lates neat gizmo into it and just have it work…not a strong suit for linux.

Most corporate networks are still windows based and for good reason, Active Directory runs circles around any other corporate infrastructure for a lot of things that are important in the corporate world. I just find life is easier if I stick to windows.

gaming and my day job (developer with Microsoft tech) have me firmly in the microsoft court. Windows 7 was good, 8.1 sucked, 10 fixed 8.1 and is much, much faster. The only problem I have had with win 10 is that my new mobo came with a suite of software so I can prioritize bandwidth for my applications that need a network connection. It seems one update for windows turned something on that started to consume all 32 gigs of memory I have due to interference between it and my network bandwidth software. I had to call the AC repair folks again because it’s not 100% clear to me that the AC is draining out the drain pan and into the pipe instead of just overflowing and then dripping out the furnace plenum under the house. (We had them out to deal with this in November. Apparently it wasn’t fixed.)

Then I went outside to discover 6oz of water in the mug I put below the drain pipe, representing the water that it produced over probably 36 hours. So now I need to decide if I think that output is sufficient and do I call and cancel the service call or not.

It’s the essence of conservatism unfortunately. If it’s not people getting their health insurance, it’s women having the right to choose, gay couples to marry who they want to marry, or racial minorities living their lives without fear of harassment by law enforcement.

And pick a distribution that works the SECOND time you use it! I’m familiar with Windows, Apple and Linux. ANY of the three systems are more than capable of tying you in knots.
