Speculation. Quite a few years ago Citibank made an announcement in the morning that a company statement would come at the end of the business day. At first in late morning to early afternoon the stock went up. By mid-afternoon the stock lost all of its gains and was losing money. They decided to make the statement earlier and the stock went up. The message was: Happy Holidays from Citibank.
