As I said downstairs, Trump is angling for his own private police force, by urging local police to enforce federal laws and regs, and probably Trumpian tweets. It’s a dangerous tactic, and someone needs to call him out about it.

Remember the Mooch’s first press conference, the one where he kissed Trump’s ass up and down and said “He sinks 3 foot putts”?

Here’s how that came out in the official WH transcript.

“But here’s what I tell you about the President. He’s the most competitive person I’ve ever met. Okay, I’ve seen this guy throw a dead spiral through a tire. I’ve seen him at Madison Square Garden with a topcoat on. He’s standing in the key and he’s hitting foul shots and swishing them, okay? He sinks 30-foot putts. I don’t see this guy as a guy that’s ever under siege. This is a very, very competitive person.

The Guardian’s take on the Mooch.

Anthony Scaramucci moves quickly, but not always coherently. In so many ways, the new White House communications director is so much like his boss: grotesquely entertaining like a drunken party before the projectile vomiting begins.

Scaramucci, as his call to the New Yorker so aptly demonstrated, is undisciplined and unprincipled, over-reaching and under-qualified, petty, vindictive, and above all, in love with his own image on TV. In short, he’s the perfectly-coiffed face of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Make America Afraid Again
Trump’s “slice and dice” rhetoric about brown-on-white violence has a single purpose.
By Jamelle Bouie

“…On Friday Trump will visit Long Island, where 15 members of MS-13 were arrested—a trip that would fit a political plan to demagogue Hispanic immigrants as imminent threats to white Americans, and white women in particular. Trump is aware that he’s flailing, and to rebuild support—to re-establish that bond with his voters—he’s turning to an old, crude, and dangerous rhetorical well.”

The New Republic’s take on the Mooch.

Trump, “Mooch,” and the Rise of the New York Douchebag

Normally, a president under siege would not hire someone like Anthony Scaramucci, the loudmouth financier known as “the Mooch” who joined the White House last week as communications director. Donald Trump’s strife-ridden administration already has more than its share of troubles, with the Russia collusion investigation escalating, the president feuding with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and the Republican discord over Obamacare repeal (RIP, for now). In the midst of this turmoil, Scaramucci created his own drama by calling up New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza and insulting his White House colleagues in the crudest possible terms. Scaramucci called Reince Priebus “a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” and compared himself favorably to Trump’s chief strategist, saying, “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock. I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the president. I’m here to serve the country.”

In most administrations, Scaramucci’s public badmouthing of his colleagues would be a major liability, likely a fireable offense. But Trump operates from a different set of rules—the same rules, it would seem, that Scaramucci operates from. Reading his rant to The New Yorker, it was hard not to recall the infamous Access Hollywood tape in which Trump boasts about sexually assaulting women: “You can do anything. Grab ‘em by the pussy.” Indeed, Scaramucci is a sort of mini-Trump: brash, hyper-masculine, bro-loyal, sexually crass, and street smart, perhaps, but not actually smart.

Which is to say, Trump and his new minion aren’t just colorful personalities, but members of a particular species: the New York douchebag. That’s why Scaramucci may long remain in good standing—as long as he doesn’t break one golden rule.

re: #29 goddamnedfrank

White House communications chief Anthony Scaramucci dropped jaws when he cursed a blue streak about chief of staff Reince Priebus — but President Trump loved it, according to a report.

“Reince is a f-king paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” Scaramucci railed at Ryan Lizza of the New Yorker, whom he wanted to reveal who leaked a story about him having dinner at the White House.

During his profanity-laden diatribe, he also targeted Trump’s chief strategist.

“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c- -k,” he said. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the f- -king strength of the president. I’m here to serve the country.”

Trump “loved the Mooch quotes,” Axios reported, using Scaramucci’s nickname.

well, regardless of Johnny Mavericks motivations, I’m happy he voted the way that he did.

Can the ACA be improved, yes it can, even though it’s coming into being was bipartisan, none of the GOP voted for it (thanks to Mr Boehner and Mr. McConnell).

That was all fucking kabuki then and all of the posing since has been just that, as the GOP hoped to get what they really wanted, some additional income for those that don’t need it at the behest of everyone else.

There can be improvements made to the bill, we could get all of the states to sign onto the Medicare expansion, we could improve the subsidies structure, we can try and do a better job of incorporating and accounting for change in the industry, new tests, adoption of newer gene based treatments, additional research etc… expansion of mental health and opioid treatment…

Would I prefer single payer, sure, but I also understand that we have hundreds of thousands of people working in insurance based jobs tied to healthcare, forms coders, folks that establish procedures and protocols for care itself, who gets paid and how much etc etc etc… there’s an entire industry at work there in the US. Dismantling that private sector isn’t easy and shouldn’t be done cavalierly.

As for Collins and Murkowski and McCain, ty for standing up against your party knowing what a truly awful piece of legislation that it was. TY to the Dem Congresscritters and Senators for not lending any shade to this process.

Nope, the Twitter handle (the part that doesn’t change) is the same as the name, and the old tweets are consistent in tone, though less political. I’m guessing he had this kind of rep before he worked for Trump.

You know, I can just see it now - a police brutality case defense sometime later this year; the accused cop takes the stand and says, “Your Honor, the President told me to do it.”

Morons keep finding that they wind up in deep trouble for following the mad president’s lead.

on a semi-serious note

the frame is way more serious than just ‘self-pardon’ — because it becomes self negating

can he pardon himself for participating in acts that illegally got him the office?

if he didnt win the office legitimately, what’s the legitimacy of the pardon power?

Under the Constitution, once Congress has certified that he won a majority of the electors and his term begins, he is the President, with all the powers of the Presidency, until his term of office ends one way or another. I tried to explain this to birthers who thought everything Obama ever did in office could be negated if only they could prove he wasn’t eligible.

The key to tr*mp’s “successes” thus far is very simple.

GOP proto-fascism as nurtured by Fox News and hate radio for decades has primed millions of people in the GOP base to have neo-Nazi multiple orgasms for the first GOP candidate to give them a taste of real fascism.

i get the constitutional argument (and im not arguing with you)

there’s something pernicious in this

congress essentially certifying an election without all the facts / knowledge that maybe no one is aware of / may come out later is like like hiding to outlast the statute of limitations

then pardoning yourself (ie admitting the crimes) and keep the office is perverse because the framers didnt actually put in writing “you cant steal the office”

unwinding everything that he did up the that point i admit is a different argument

Everything I need to know about Kelly:

One:
He questioned President Barack Obama’s decision to open combat jobs to women.

He oversaw the Guantanamo Bay prison.

He will likely be responsible for building Trump’s promised wall.

Two:

YEW CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Yeah, he may be that guy in real life.

They are talking about one thing Kelly may be in place do is clean up The West Wing of the Trump White House. Sounds like the need for a discipline guy to most likely cut the perceived leaks, present a coordinated one message, etc.

One guy said it is an admittance that 6 months in Trump is a failed presidency.

Why would anyone want to go to work in this White House?

Think of the books, the speeches, the TV gigs!

Never going to stop leaking. I don’t think for this white house, at least. Obama’s was pretty good but there are way too many people who do not like or appreciate trump.

I could be wrong but that’s my take.

CNN saying Preibus gave resignation yesterday.

Were there tear stains on it or was it just dictated?

John Kelly, currently Homeland Security Secretary.

So, Homeland Security is now rudderless, too?

Great. Just fucking great.
