That Absurdly Glowing Health Letter From Trump’s Doctor? Trump Wrote It.

Politics • Views: 31,726

Come on, now. Everybody already knew this, right? I mean, just read the thing. It couldn’t have been more obvious that it was Donald Trump’s language if he had signed it with a Magic Marker.

(CNN) — When Dr. Harold Bornstein described in hyperbolic prose then-candidate Donald Trump’s health in 2015, the language he used was eerily similar to the style preferred by his patient.

It turns out the patient himself wrote it, according to Bornstein.

“He dictated that whole letter. I didn’t write that letter,” Bornstein told CNN on Tuesday. “I just made it up as I went along.”

Let’s put Propecia Pinochet on a treadmill for someone his age that’s in healthy shape and let’s see what his final heart rate/pulse is.

Something tells me he’ll fail bigly.

So on the question of whether the president can be indicted, I decided to take a look at the Federalist Papers, and came across this bit from Hamiltonin Federalist 65:

These considerations seem alone sufficient to authorize a conclusion, that the Supreme Court would have been an improper substitute for the Senate, as a court of impeachments. There remains a further consideration, which will not a little strengthen this conclusion. It is this: The punishment which may be the consequence of conviction upon impeachment, is not to terminate the chastisement of the offender. After having been sentenced to a prepetual ostracism from the esteem and confidence, and honors and emoluments of his country, he will still be liable to prosecution and punishment in the ordinary course of law. Would it be proper that the persons who had disposed of his fame, and his most valuable rights as a citizen in one trial, should, in another trial, for the same offense, be also the disposers of his life and his fortune? Would there not be the greatest reason to apprehend, that error, in the first sentence, would be the parent of error in the second sentence? That the strong bias of one decision would be apt to overrule the influence of any new lights which might be brought to vary the complexion of another decision?

That bolded part seems to suggest that criminal trials would happen after impeachment. And that language is repeated in Federalist 69. To mean that suggests a preference for impeachment first, but I don’t think it necessarily prohibits indictment and criminal proceedings first.

Another example would be that once the dam broke against Nixon, Congress was ready to act quickly on impeachment. And because of Ford’s pardons, no indictments against Nixon were unsealed.

Hopefully, if Mueller produces enough evidence, things will play out this way. But I’m not entirely sure it will. And that is somewhat scary.

I listened to Fresh Air podcast today from April 25 with historian Kathleen Belew about her research into White Power movement from just after Vietnam War until Oklahoma bombing. She said turning point was 1983 when they saw that Reagan was more moderate than he’d led them to believe. After that the common denominator—besides hate of non-whites, etc.—became hate of the government with intent to burn it down. Sounds a bit like Bannon, no? What has happened since Trump took control is no surprise.

Small bit of confusion in our house.

Husband: “Did you hear Trump dictated the doctor’s letter?”

Me: “Well, the man was handing out pills like candy to White House staffers so it doesn’t surprise me.”

Put simply, Trump uses the fundamentalists to get elected and to bully wayward Republicans, and in return Trump puts them in positions where they can destroy America:

‘On Fire For God’s Work’: How Scott Pruitt’s Faith Drives His Politics

[…]

While Pruitt is probably best known now for his aggressive attempts to roll back Obama-era environmental regulations - and perhaps for the increasing number of investigations into alleged ethical misconduct - much of his career has been driven by faith-based issues like abortion and religious freedom. Pruitt and the EPA did not respond to several requests for comment over nearly two months, including a four-page list of questions from NPR. But an examination of Pruitt’s public statements and his record shows that says his faith continues to inform his views of the environment and climate change.

The apartment is uninhabitable through no fault of yours. Let them get the money from your insurance company who will in turn get it from your upstairs neighbor. Your shit ain’t there anymore, right? So they have no leverage via threat of eviction. I’d call your insurance claims agent and have them pour over your rental contract.

One more thing. Their claim is under the small claims court limit, which means you really have little to fear. Worst case scenario is a judgement for the amount they want anyway so I say fuck ‘em and their lease. I very much doubt they want to explain to a small claims judge why you owe them for rent on an uninhabitable apartment. California law is on your side here:

1942.
(a) If within a reasonable time after written or oral notice to the landlord or his agent, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 1962, of dilapidations rendering the premises untenantable which the landlord ought to repair, the landlord neglects to do so, the tenant may repair the same himself where the cost of such repairs does not require an expenditure more than one month’s rent of the premises and deduct the expenses of such repairs from the rent when due, or the tenant may vacate the premises, in which case the tenant shall be discharged from further payment of rent, or performance of other conditions as of the date of vacating the premises. Recommend writing a letter to them and your State Farm agent asserting your rights under California law to vacate the premises immediately without owing anything further by way of rent. If State Farm wants to continue paying that’s their choice but then it shouldn’t count towards your policy’s total claim limit. This is one of the risks of being a landlord, don’t let them foist it off on you.

Trump’s whole past is now coming back to get even with him.

There is a race on to see how much he and the clan can grift before they all end up losing it all in the courts.

The GOP is in a race to see how much they can get away with before they too have it all come back on them.

Truly a race of good versus bad and the soul of this country.

Go figure it was the God & Country types that have taken the position of being bad.

All they’ve gotten so far is one Supreme Court Justice and a tax cut (which, Surprise!, is not resulting in a rush of infrastructure investment and raises). Apple said today it is buying back $100 billion (Yes, that was B) in stock.

We need to stop electing people who believe in trickle down economics. It’s a goddamned sham.

They also got a lot of white male RW judges appointed to life on the federal courts. Some of the damage to the environment, financial state of the nation, and health care can be reversed under the next administration if it’s all Democratic.

re: #83 The Vicious Babushka

What does he have to fear?

Trump doesn’t fear a thing. His ego and vanity and incessant lies means he’ll go in thinking he’ll show everyone who’s boss and that he is smarter than everyone else in the room.

His lawyers, such as they are? That’s an entirely different story.

They’re all shitting bricks because they know the moment Trump opens his mouth he’s not only sticking his foot in it, but it’s going to be joined by his other foot, hand, and on and on and on. He will implicate himself in everything being alleged and then some.

He will open the floodgates on not only Trump’s personal criminality, but everyone else around him.

There’s a reason Trump needed a 2 man rule for every meeting with him. They all knew he lied about everything - and that was when he was dealing with his own lawyers.

It’s 1000 times worse when he’s facing highly competent federal prosecutors.

Oh I dunno saying people just accepted being enslaved is a good way to piss people off especially since slavery is still going on in the world and you’re helping David Duke’s worldview.

Plus, trumps lawyers can’t hold his hand if he has to testify before the Grand Jury. He’ll have to fly solo. What a sight that would be.

Yes but it really only referred to Quantum Mechanics and not God as a deity but rather the concept of the operation of the universe.
