Stunning: Investigators Found Hundreds (Maybe Thousands) of Photos of Underage Girls in Jeffrey Epstein’s Mansion

US News • Views: 52,400

Multi-millionaire Jeffrey Epstein has known for years that he was being investigated for sex trafficking of underage girls. But he apparently was so confident that his wealth would insulate him from consequences that he continued to keep a large collection of nude photos of underage girls in his $77 million New York mansion.

Prosecutors alleged Epstein “has continued to maintain a vast trove of lewd photographs of young-looking women or girls in his Manhattan mansion.”

Investigators said they recovered “at least hundreds—and perhaps thousands—of sexually suggestive photographs of fully- or partially nude females”

They continued: “Some of the nude or partially-nude photographs appear to be of underage girls, including at least one girl who, according to her counsel, was underage at the time the relevant photographs were taken.”

“Some of the photographs referenced herein were discovered in a locked safe, in which law enforcement officers also found compact discs with hand-written labels including the following: “Young [Name] + [Name],” “Misc nudes 1,” and “Girl pics nude.”

And today, he pleaded not guilty.

The president* of the US has ties to Jeffrey Epstein going way back, and it’s entirely possible he’ll end up implicated in this, too.

Jesus…I had joked on Twitter just about twenty minutes ago that it might be bad for Trump if Epstein kept photographic records of his clientele. If he’s got pics of the girls, there’s a good chance they’re date traceable to his guests.

Apparently, the charges the Feds are pursuing would give Epstein a 45-year prison term and with him being 66 years old, that’s basically a life sentence.

re: #5 Backwoods_Sleuth

Reupped from the last thread.

The plea deal in FL was a cover-up, and this is a new batch of crimes, committed in both FL and NY. The search warrant in NY uncovered 1000s of photos of underage children.

Prosecutors and investigators have found new crimes by the sex predator Epstein, and it could involve other associates as per the indictment.

Of course his lawyers are claiming this is a witch hunt or a do-over for the earlier sweetheart deal made by Acosta. His lawyers are paid to say that kind of thing.

But the reality is that bad people often do the same crimes time and again (hence habitual offenders, 3 strikes rules, etc.). Epstein was a sex predator who got a deal with prosecutors because he’s rich and powerful. He’s again under indictment for child sex trafficking, and prosecutors have no reason to cut a deal here. The mandatory minimums are 10-15 years per charge, and I think as they continue investigating, additional charges/counts will be filed.

I’m also expecting other people to get named soon.

I was checking on what the Freepers thought of all this (aside from the “we’ve finally got something on Bill Clinton” stuff.) The story line is that Trump found out about Epstein approaching a girl at Mar-a-Lago and banned him from the property. As far as they are concerned that was the appropriate action. Case closed.

It occurred to me this is probably a consistent conservative view. The alpha male protects those under his control from others. He of course gets what he wants, but that’s different. Society at large (police, courts) don’t have a legitimate role and if those outside his fiefdom don’t have effective protection, well, that’s just too bad for them.

It’s an ugly world view.

No penetration, so not statutory rape.

So the stories of the girls were true, including the children being forced to fondle themselves or Epstein and other acts?

Weird that he’d make that claim, when there’s reports that some of the children were forcibly touched.

@BettyBowers
Not that Donald would recognize a “brilliant constitutional lawyer” anyway, but John Eastman is a right-wing kook, who is the Chairman of the Board of the anti-gay National Organization for Marriage.

i got CL’s as i noted:

brilliant constitutional lawyer is alleging there was no crime so no ‘prosecutor’ should have been appointed

- mueller was special counsel, not ‘prosecutor’

- how do you know there’s ‘no crime’ if you don’t investigate?

apparently he didnt read the appointment order

- “to ensure a full and thorough investigation of the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election….”

- and “the special counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation….”

The search warrant against Epstein’s NY home yielded thousands of photos of children.

Geoffrey Berman, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a press conference Monday that investigators also found “nude photographs of what appeared to be underage girls” at the Upper East Side home

We’re looking at a range of crimes that could be added to the current indictment:

18 U.S.C. § 2251- Sexual exploitation of children
18 U.S.C. § 2252- Certain activities relating to material involving the sexual exploitation of minors
18 U.S.C. § 2252A- Certain activities relating to material constituting or containing child pornography
18 U.S.C. § 2260- Production of sexually explicit depictions of a minor for importation into the United States

Possession is enough to warrant a conviction. And the time stamps on those photos would be enough to overcome any defense claim that the earlier deal is null and void - even as prosecutors say they aren’t bound by the FL deal, which is suspect on so many other levels.

I remember Rick Santorum talking about how his grandfather “worked until the day he died”, which to me just sounded like he had a really poor pension plan.

Dad’s dad worked until the day he died at 91
His choice. He could have retired anytime. Self employed

Mom’s dad retired at 65 on the nose. Also self employed.
Lived to 94 and totally enjoyed it. They traveled a lot and lived a life of modest leisure.
Married to Grandma for 70 years.

As it is, there is a crunch for finding qualified people to fill existing jobs, and Trump’s immigration policy is making that situation worse (go figure).

That is fine if you have a job you enjoy and wish to pursue, but most people would be doing it out of dire necessity.

“Here old man, hump this pack of shingles up to that 3rd story roof.”

Also, even when you are doing a job you are capable of and generally enjoy doing, if you keep at it until you’re 80, people below you at the company are stuck where they are and can’t move up. This leads to a moral dilemma about whether you have a responsibility to retire or not, and I certainly can’t provide an answer for all situations, but it can be discouraging for 40 year olds who can’t get promotions they really deserve.

Hungary recently passed a mandatory overtime law, requiring employees to perform up to 400 hours of overtime a year if the employer deems them necessary.

It does require them to be paid, but the employer can defer payment for up to a year.

The thing is, I’d bet the 23% who don’t expect to retire are mostly people whose jobs barely pay enough for them to live now, and a lot of those jobs aren’t the kind you can keep doing forever.

The page I posted over the weekend, about that NPR story on El Centro, the city with the worst employment situation in America talked about a lot of older farmworkers, who can’t do the work anymore, and can’t find other jobs either. Pretty sure they’re among the 23% who don’t expect to retire.

Because

2) people who entered the field in the last 10-15 years, don’t know the hardware or software that was common 30+ years ago, so the oldsters can command top dollar.

Just fuck these motherfuckers. I’m too fucking mad to be civil. I’m a historian, but I don’t actually want to live in the Middle Ages.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday announced the formation of a new commission that will take a “fresh look” at human rights through the lens of “natural law,” and civil and human rights advocates are outraged. In preliminary filings the State Dept. noted the Commission will explore “our nation’s founding principles of natural law and natural rights.”

“Natural law,” is religious right wing extremist code for anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ rights, especially marriage for same-sex couples.

Secretary Pompeo, a known right wing Christian extremist in his own right, has named Mary Ann Glendon, a professor who is also his former mentor, to lead the “Commission on Unalienable Rights.”

Glendon is an anti-abortion, anti-gay Catholic activist who served as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See (the Vatican) under President George W. Bush. She is also known for her opposition to the use of condoms to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS.**

“I hope that the commission will revisit the most basic of questions: What does it mean to claim something is, in fact, a human right?” Pompeo told reporters Monday, adding … that “words like rights can be used for good or evil.” source

If the House were to follow through on impeachment, there isn’t a lot that McConnell could actually do. Most of the processes are already in place and fairly automatic. Setting out the full case, on a myriad of impeachable offenses, over the course of weeks in the House hearings and then again in the Senate trial should have an effect. Even if the Senate GOP votes for acquittal across the board… you spend the next decade or two embarrassing every one of them in every re-election campaign that they were ok with supporting the most corrupt president in American history because “he was on their team.”

President Trump: “Iran better be careful. Because you enrich for one reason and I won’t tell you what that reason is. But it’s no good. They better be careful.”

what i wrote downstairs this morning re: Iran:

- we (actually trump himself) unilaterally withdrew from the deal
- Iran started enriching uranium. going over the limit of a deal that no longer exists (at least for us)

so what brilliant strategy awaits?

- negotiate a new deal? would look a lot like the last deal (a la nafta 2) though he’d lie to his base. Why would Iran bother? they couldnt possibly trust him.

- more sanctions? what the hell is left that’s not already sanctioned? he’s even going after individuals in government

- war! (and, you know, screw congress). sure drones wouldnt put americans in danger (ahem) immediately. But Iran’s not stupid - they could *easily* have something blown up here. I don’t even want to game that one out.

foreign policy *is* looking at the board 20 moves into the future.
that future just smacked trump in the puss.

he’s got no good options, and he did this to himself.

you dont really have to game out a real shooting war too far… if americans are killed he’s gonna have a lot of ‘splainin to do on the campaign trail

The USWNT is the top ranked team in the world.

In this tournament they beat:

England (3rd)
France (4th)
The Netherlands (8th)
Sweden (9th)
Spain (13th)

Plus Chile and Thailand.

In 7 games they outscored their opponents 26-3 (and 13-3 if you exclude the 13-0 rout of Thailand).

That’s not exactly weak competition. The Belgian men’s team isn’t steamrolling through Brazil, England, Uruguay, Switzerland, and Colombia the way the USWNT just ran through the equivalently ranked teams.

Absolutely. I’m not saying vote to impeach tomorrow. Go through the process. Have multiple hearing in front of multiple committees. And cover everything:

obstruction of justice, emoluments, nepotism, corruption/graft, crimes against humanity (see the ICE detention facilities), abuse of power (declaring national emergencies to bypass congress), and all the rest. I’m talking 2-3 months of hearings where every illegal/unlawful thing that Trump has done since taking office is laid out bare.

If the Senate acquits him, so be it. But it won’t be before the end of a 2-3 month impeachment trial.

If you really believe that 4-6 months of a wide ranging impeachment inquiry and trial won’t be enough to bring down Trump and the GOP, then there really isn’t anything that will and it’s time to consider relocating.

Hey, I’m just talking historical tech-jargon.

The Guardian has an up-to-date tech-bro lingo:

disrupt (v) - To create a new market, either by inventing something completely new (ie the personal computer, the smartphone) or by ignoring the rules of an old market. If the latter, often illegal, but rarely prosecuted. Uber disrupted the taxi industry by flooding the market with illegal cabs, while Airbnb disrupted the hotel market by flooding the market with illegal sublets. See sharing economy.

revolutionize (v) - To change something that does not need to be changed in order to charge money for its replacement. “Apple revolutionized the experience of using headphones when it killed the headphone jack on iPhones.”

re: #269 KGxvi

I read about Amash’s interview last night and just had to nod my head to his comments about Nancy. That she is making a moral as well as strategic mistake in not starting the impeach process. And that her insistence on holding off until the party has a strong case indicates she doesn’t believe she has a strong case, which is contradictory to her constant insistence to the press that she does. It was another iteration of the reality that Pelosi needs to “shit or get off the pot,” that if she’s not going to impeach Trump then she needs to spell that out and explain her reason(s) why.

Here are some of their 4chan talking points regarding Trump’s involvement:

COLLECTED COUNTER POINTS FOR MOCKINGBIRD SPIN

Can Anons add smth & help backing up with sauce, please?

- Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his Golf Club and banned him for life, when he found out, Epstein was hooking up with the 14 Year old daughter of an employer

-Trump is NOT in the flight log to Lolita Island, not even once. He “hitched a ride” back from Daytona Beach TO NYC with Epstein’s son one time…and I have little doubt they tried like holy hell to get Trump to Lolita Island. Epstein assaulted a young girl at Mara Largo and Trump had him banned for life.

-At Epstein’s first arrest Trump went voluntarily to the police to give a statement and at the time the Police commented “He could not have been MORE forthcoming”.

-Trump knew what Epstein was up to “he’s a fun guy, likes his girls young, really really young”. People held that against him as if it were some form of agreement when in fact, in typical Trump fashion he slapped Epstein publicly..iron fist in velvet glove. He was NOT a politician and he had to do business with these people and he still managed to say something about what he knew was going on.

A Christian school kindergarten teacher in the Chicago suburbs is facing charges related to sexual assault and child pornography after investigators say that she sent explicit material to minors for years.

Shannon Griffin is the wife of the pastor of Jordan Baptist Church and is a teacher at the associated Jordan Baptist school in Oak Lawn, a suburb of Chicago.

Why am I not surprised?

One student, Yhaneera Aparicio-Armas, said that she remembered Griffin for being really strict when it came to dress code violations.

“She would write me up and other girls and, like, how ironic that you’re telling us how to dress, us how to be modest, and be Christian women, and you turn around doing the exact opposite,” said Aparicio-Aramas.

[Context: this is a thread about rescuing a toddler skunk that fell into a window well] Apparently, our rescue dog is part skunk. Whenever and wherever i take her to walk, she prefers to not walk a straight path along a road if there are forest edges or buildings to “perimeter sniff.” It’s such a pain in the ass. But she is so sweet. I wouldn’t care if it weren’t for the pain in my hips from being jerked when she lunges at something or the pain in my hand from the Freedom Halter leash that stresses my forefinger joint.*

*Lots of people swear by these halters and it was recommended by our trainer. And it works! Our dog was a much worse lunger on a single-attachment leash, but she still lunges at other dogs (I have times and places figured to minimize contact), and it places stress on that finger joint. Back to school for her? I wish. But it’s not in the budget right now.
