LYRICS

When I was just a young’n bouncin on my momma’s knee
She said son there’s only one thing that sets your soul free
Wasn’t no easy street where I come from
And there wasn’t no sleep until the work was done

Papa was preaching ‘bout the fires of of hell
If you want a drink of water got to go to the well
Cornerstone church tried to curse my soul
But the good lord gave me that rock and roll

Let the spirit pull me under, to the bottom of the well
You wanna live forever but you never can tell
So one for the money, To another show
3 for the father, son and Holy Ghost

I’m spending important president time to tweet about Jennifer because I’m such a victim, but because I’m juvenile I’ll go out of my way to say I don’t know who she is.

I will give Jennifer Rubin props for going straight at the Republican assholes.

The party of lying liars

Republicans’ lies are so numerous and obvious that one requires only a minimal amount of fact-checking to see that they lie because they have no truthful factual defenses nor valid constitutional argument…

It would be refreshing if House Republicans simply admitted Trump violated his oath but that they are unwilling to abide by theirs and remove him. The candor would be preferable to the non-stop lying.

It remains an open question as to whether Senate Republicans are willing to ignore and distort reality so as to avoid voting to convict a president of their own party. Unfortunately, we find it highly unlikely that more than a few (if that many) would concede that Trump and the right-wing echo chamber that protects him have been spinning a web of lies for nearly three years.

Why does the Deep State hate Roger Stone?

He helped Bush win the recount in 2000 in Florida
He encouraged Trump to run in 2015
He helped Trump win in 2016
He is STILL loyal to Trump

This is a revenge campaign

Why do Republicans hate Hillary?

She helped Bill Clinton win election in 1992 and 1996
Served as Secretary of State under Obama
Ran against and received more popular votes than Trump 2016
She is STILL loyal to the Democrats

This is a revenge campaign

(and she has a Barry Goldwater tattoo between her shoulder blades)

Wait until you hear of this plot twist. The sun is headed for a sunspot minimum, which is known to decrease global temperatures.
But I somehow doubt that it will be evenly distributed across the globe, rather it will be concentrated at the poles. At the same time as the rest of the world is heating up.
Now, jog those brain cells you used for high school physics: What happens when warm and cold air meet and is proportional to the temperature differential?

That’s why I always thought opening an impeachment investigation in the Spring or early Summer of this year would have been a mistake.

The Rs are getting tired of defending Trump 24/7 already - you could see it in in Nunes’ and Jordan’s half-hearted ‘defenses’ after the hearings this week.

If they keep it up past the holidays and into the new year, a lot of Rs are just gonna say ‘fuck it’ and stop trying altogether.

I remember a chemistry student telling me in my freshman year at Indiana U that if he could easily turn the stuff out by the bucketful.

Thanks to the proposed redistricting, Davis could make this seat more competitive. Meadows would still be a solid favorite, but having all of Asheville will definitely help the Democratic candidate. Back in the 1980s, the district changed hands multiple times. Unfortunately, the proposed plan puts me in Virginia “Wicked Witch of Western NC” Foxx’s territory. Bleh.

I took advantage of the nice weather yesterday to finally get the raking done on my front yard. There’s a maple tree on the boulevard so it took 6 bags to get rid of them all. Back yard trees are a honeylocust and river birch so I can mulch those leaves with the mower. I’m a heavy procrastinator on yard work. re: #28 b.d. (Where is Rudy?)

The soldiers that POTUS pardoned. The military is probably pissed at the move and will now assign them to hellholes/dangerous spots? One would hope?

The last thing we should do with someone this dangerous is assign them some place where they could commit action that will plunge our already blackened name even further into the cesspit not to mention another chance to harm others, ship him to a radar station in Alaska or somewhere else where he’ll never have a reason to hold a firearm again.

And when they get out of the service, if I ruled the world, they would get red flagged and never allowed to own or handle a gun again.

He looks like he’s 400 pounds.

He’s carrying something, cradled under his left arm. Looks like some kind of satchel.

The President doesn’t normally carry his own bags. Could be housing a medical monitoring device.<

That was my other thought but it makes even less sense, unless he’s terrified of accurate medical records existing outside of his literal grasp.

After looking at that clip a few times, it doesn’t look like he’s carrying that thing that looks like a folder. It looks like it’s clipped to his sleeve.

They could also be clippings of all the mean things said about him so he can take out his Sharpie and write NOT GOOD!!! and send it back to the offenders.

Biden is just not for the current times. He served honorably in his day, but he needs to accept that now is the time for the next generation of Democrats.

Speaking of orange blobs, today the Okeanos Explorer is off the Atlantic coast, and came across this thing dearly clinging onto the rock, about to be swept away by the current (draw your own analogies):

OK, whether Trump’s “visit to the hospital for a physical” is or isn’t “routine” or “fine” (I’m thinking NFW, but never mind), at least he was able to walk to his ride more-or-less normally. So there’s that.

And to me (also after numerous re-views) it did look like he was carrying some sort of file with papers sticking out of it. Probably was his daily “good reviews” dossier. I wonder if the WH staff actually clip/copy stuff for him, or do they just photocopy glowing headlines figuring he’d never remember where they came from anyway??

Another reason to give to PBS. That and Sesame Street is celebrating 50 years on the air. Also America’s Test Kitchen is celebrating 20 years on Tuesday at 9:00 PM.

This, compared to everything else he’s done, really is normal. Think FDR, JFK, Reagan.
