There is only so much yard work and house cleaning you can do in a week and nap time is still a couple of hours away.

“I hope people feel safe to go out and vote, but if they don’t, you know, the No. 1 thing — their safety should be No. 1. If they don’t, then don’t go out and vote.”

— Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R), quoted by the Kansas City Star.

Don’t “hope”

You’re the fucking government
Make it safe
Or, you know, send everyone an absentee ballot application

Show us you’re not a damned partisan idiot

The last couple of days, there’s been a song lyric* bouncing around in my head:

They’ve got the guns, but we’ve got the numbers

*Ok, fine “song” and “lyric” is loosely used when talking about the Doors, but still…

25°C (77°F) is considered “very warm”?

Then again, Glasgow……

Yes, indeed. I refer you to @TapsAffGlasgow ‘s Twitter feed, and the related website.

Today the weather is officially “Taps aff” day. And I’ve seen a lot of taps aff amongst male folks when I was walking around my local borough today.

Trump just threatened to have looters shot. Biden urged calm. That says it all. -

Of course the counter-argument is being spun as “Would you rather just have police stand by and do nothing while these niCLANGs run amok?”

Because to them, everything is, well, black and white. Criminals deserve to die.

Depends on two things. How long Biden’s presser is and what he says and how much of a sedative they have to give him. So I’ll take 45 minutes.

During his announcement, he assured us of his seriousness in holding the police accountable by bragging about convicting former police officer Mohamed Noor. For some reason, I’m not assured of the same outcome here.

Is he still delaying?

A lot of folks in the UK noted that the statement by Dominic Cummings, UK PM Boris Johnson’s chief advisor, on Monday- about how he defied the UK lockdown restrictions in various ridiculous circumstances, in ways that suggested one law for the elite and another rule for people he viewed as plebs- was similarly delayed to a ridiculous extent. They also noted that this was a similar tactic pursued by Trump, and that Cummings is a fan of Trump.

get the results back in about two days.
