So today is the end of the month and the end of the quarter. I paid down my credit card from my last donation spree and then went through my email (oh so so so many begging emails) and threw money at candidates. I did not give money to everyone in my email as some people (they know who they are) are either in safe seats and/or huge warchests and/or very good polling.

A chunk of money went to:
* Biden/Harris

Senate:
* Jon Ossoff (Georgia)
* Raphael Warnock (Georgia)
* Theresa Greenfield (Iowa)
* Steve Bullock (Montana)
* MJ Hegar (Texas)

House
* Joan Greene (she doesn’t have a chance but I want to encourage her because Andy Biggs, my congresscritter, is a horrible person)
* Hank Gilbert (Texas, he’s running against Gohmert, again, another long shot)
* Candace Valenzuela (Texas 24th district)

I’m sure there are other worthy candidates I am forgetting, so I’ll be perusing this thread to see who else you all are supporting.

It’s just barely, barely starting to get to be that time here in the East Valley of Phoenix. I’ve seen a couple of RVs from midwestern states in the last week while I was out and about. I’ll have a better idea of how bad it is going to be when we get through October. It’s still over 100 degrees every day right now.

And if they manage to get across they’ll likely be severely fined when they return. Canada is not fucking around.

I had to cross once a few months ago after the border first closed. I was there for like 45 minutes getting a document notarized and picking up a large check. When I returned to Canada they took all my info, told me mandatory 14 day quarantine, said if I broke it is be fined $1,000,000. They called the house a few days later. They emailed twice. They are not fucking around.

Crossings are not going to happen. US CBP will turn them right around and send them back to Canada where they’ll still have to quarantine.

Did I mention Canada isn’t fucking around?

The coast near here still hasn’t fully recovered from Cat 5 Michael in 2018. At least Sally went farther W, though Pensacola looked mildly jacked on Sunday. The snowbirds might not have an easy time getting home in the Spring. So, they might not happen at all.

Sign theft is pretty rare around here. There was a story in the Vail Daily that quoted the local sheriff, he said they’ve taken two calls for sign thefts and two more calls for sign vandalism (a couple of big Trump signs you could see from the highway were destroyed last week) in the last month. I’ve had signs for Colorado Democratic candidates in my yard for almost two weeks, they’re still there.

It’s just barely, barely starting to get to be that time here in the East Valley of Phoenix. I’ve seen a couple of RVs from midwestern states in the last week while I was out and about. I’ll have a better idea of how bad it is going to be when we get through October. It’s still over 100 degrees every day right now.
