half•alive - “TIME 2” (Official Video)
“TIME 2” available everywhere now https://smarturl.it/HATIME2

the lyrical message of ‘TIME 2’ ended up shocking us in a very prophetic way… the song speaks about waking up in the chaos of life & remembering a child-like state of mind. it calls to reset, & return to the beginning. the moment we finished writing the song, the world was subdued into a global time-out. production on the song, along with everything else, came to a standstill. a year has passed, & now in May 2021 we find ourselves looking down at the lyrics in awe…

“I’m fleeing to the wonder I lost when I was younger, the simple child state of mind.
It’s comin’ like the sunshine, rising in the morning. I’m waking up it’s time—
Fighting the constant, forgetting to give it up.
I forgot what I wanted, now i’m waking up it’s time.”

LYRICS
if life is a season
i was drunk on christmas evening
with nothing i needed
& all the best was left behind

i’m back where i started
with sparks of what I used to know
a flame before i lost it-
the simple child state of mind

PRE CHORUS
it’s comin’ like the sunshine
rising in the morning
igniting what the course is
i’m waking up it’s time

CHORUS
Time.

This is a real life horror story that went on for most of a century. Worth noting is that the residential schools were usually run by religious groups under government contract.

On the residential school in Kamloops which only closed in 1978:

That’s recent enough that the Christian genocidaires could still be alive. Those responsible should be tried like any other mass murderer, and the organisation that ran the school (the Roman Catholic Church) should be broken.

How I managed to not get covid19 this winter kind of astonishes me. Granted I never got tested, I may have been an asymptomatic carrier? There were plenty of times in that ski lodge where we were way above our capacity of 50 people. Masking was near-universal, though at times pretty touch and go, especially with tourists from more conservative parts of the country which we attract in droves (our lift tickets are still sub-$70/day). We put three guests on our persona non grata list, a list we haven’t added names to in many years, because of the guests’ abject obstinance to masks and treating employees like garbage. All precautions within reason were taken (temperature checks every shift, mask mandate, plexiglass, hand sanitizer everywhere, big X’s on the floor for social distancing, a bunch of other little rules and regulations) and three employees still got covid19 and over a dozen missed a lot of work for being exposed, which played hell on every department. The ski area is downriver from two Colorado counties where covid19 was spreading the fastest in the nation for a time. Community spread began in March 2020 at the big resorts (Vail, Aspen) from international tourists. One cluster of people from Mexico City managed to catch covid19 in Vail, bring it back to Mexico City where there were zero cases, and start community spread there. And now I’m reading fully 10% of the U.S. population has caught covid19. I’m grateful and astonished I didn’t catch the fucker, is basically what I’m saying.

Janssen single-dose Covid vaccine approved by UK (BBC)

That means four vaccines are now approved for use in the United Kingdom.

More than 38 million people have now received a first dose of a vaccine in the UK - nearly three-quarters of the adult population.

The vaccine can be given to people aged 18 and over and is likely to be used as a booster jab for care home residents ahead of winter because it can be easily stored and transported at fridge temperatures.

And yet in “safe” Republican states like mine, mail voting is mandatory in most of the state, and promoted extensively in every election.

I was the final installment of this month-long series the Vail Daily did about the voters in CO-3 and Lauren Boebert.

It was a point counterpoint deal, and my counterpoint Bobo apologist was this woman.

She’s a covid-denying anti-mask Fuckface Von Clownstick fluffer. She’s made a minor name for herself as one of the valley’s loudest TFG supporters. She and her husband still hang a TFG flag on their front porch and adorn their yard and fence with TFG signs, and hilariously put white tape over Pence’s name on all the signs, front and back (there’s like, a half dozen signs). She’s literally the only fucking person in town who is still doing this. Knowing this, would it shock you that she’s a propagator of The Big Lie?

When gunhumpers die without telling people where they’ve left their stashes of ammunition, our country is going to be like those with landmine problems; hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition stashed in places becoming more unstable as they age.

San Jose shooting: Guns, petrol and 22,000 rounds of ammunition found (BBC)

Guns were hidden in crawl spaces and doorways, a spokesman told reporters at a press conference. The home was “very cluttered”, he said.

Officers also said Cassidy had put bullets in a cooking pot on the stove, which detonated and set the house on fire. An FBI agent quoted by Reuters news agency said this blaze probably destroyed evidence which could have helped provide a motive for the shooting.

Mitchell is about seventy miles WNW of me.

You may never have heard of Claude W. Wright.

He was one of the Americans in western Nebraska who stood for the principles of the country when many others turned their backs.

A banker who said ‘No’ to seizing Japanese Americans’ assets
Claude W. Wright

He stood for American values when the leaders of the country refused to honor the very words of the oaths they had committed to uphold.

A variety of techniques beyond imprisonment were used by the federal government to control Japanese Americans in the United States during the 1940s. According to the National Park Service, “…the bank accounts of all enemy aliens and all accounts in American branches of Japanese banks were frozen.”

This federal agency noted that these actions “…paralyzed the Japanese American community by depriving…” people of their financial assets.

In western Nebraska, it appears the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) “requested” at least one financial institution to close bank accounts of area Japanese Americans and call loans - demand payments immediately for loans outstanding - held by local Japanese Americans.

At least one banker in Mitchell refused to bend to the will of the federal government. Instead of closing bank accounts held by local Japanese Americans and call their loans he said, “No.”

“Claude R. Wright was able to confirm that an agent with the FBI visited the First National Bank in Mitchell on a Monday in early 1942,” Sandra Reddish, a public historian in Nebraska who interviewed with Wright in 2004 said.

“He didn’t know the specific date, but he recalled it was on a Monday. The meeting was with his father, Claude W. Wright, who ran the bank.

“At the time of the meeting, Claude R. Wright was a 21 year-old young man. The FBI agent wanted the bank to close the bank accounts held by local Japanese Americans as well as to call the loans held by them. Claude R. Wright confirmed that his father defended the Japanese Americans as good people and that his father refused to close any bank accounts or call any loans held by local Japanese Americans.”

Reddish indicated Nancy Sato, a local Japanese American, in a separate interview, also confirmed that the FBI attempted to have First National Bank in Mitchell close the bank accounts and call the loans of Japanese Americans in the area.

my cat is wonderful, and she can jump up on the bed, but only if she grips the sheets on the way up. There is no way in hell she is hurdling a 3 foot tall obstacle, and then landing without being able to see the landing zone before she jumps.

We do not shame cats who cannot jump, nor ones that sit in an un-cat-like manner — we do try to shame cats that eat too much kibble, though it seldom works.

First, they appeal the Barr memo ruling, now this. I’m sensing a not good at all pattern.

Lawyers for the Justice Department urged a federal judge on Friday to dismiss lawsuits against former president Donald Trump, former attorney general William P. Barr and other officials for last June’s violent clearing of demonstrators from Lafayette Square by U.S. military and police.

Trump and other U.S. officials are immune from civil lawsuits over police actions taken to protect a president and to secure his movements, government lawyers said of the actions taken ahead of a photo op of Trump holding a Bible in front of the historic St. John’s Church. A crowd of more than 1,000 largely peaceful demonstrators were protesting the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis before the park was cleared.

A year to the week after Floyd’s death, Justice Department lawyers argued that the lawsuits should also be tossed because last November’s presidential election made future violations unlikely. The government said the square has been reopened, and President Biden’s administration does not share Trump’s stated hostility toward Floyd and the racial justice movement.

***

After Justice Department lawyers asserted the circumstances of the event were unique and court action was not needed, Mastro quoted a 2015 opinion by Neil M. Gorsuch, later appointed by Trump and confirmed to the Supreme Court: “Sometimes the most obviously unlawful things happen so rarely that a case on point is itself an unusual thing. “

Mastro summarized, “The conduct here was so flagrantly unlawful and so obviously unconstitutional that it requires a remedy, and we are here today, your honor, to see that nothing like this ever happens again in our country.”

This is alarming because we know that for quite a few years, right wing evangelical elements have made a conscious, deliberate, publicly acknowledged effort to infiltrate the US armed forces, particularly the Air Force.
I’ve been personally concerned about this for quite a while but I was reluctant to even mention it in public.
There can’t be any half-measures in nuclear security. Review the status of everyone involved and get rid of anyone who shows the slightest sign of disloyalty, which includes loyalty to Russian instigated insurrectionist movements. Putin owned Congress-traitors
can expose themselves by bitching to the high heavens, but it has to be done.

There’s a plan here, and I think I see it.

1) Republicans commit some light voter fraud, like they did in 2020
2) Republicans lose election
3) Using the new law, Republicans challenge results, saying, “Doesn’t matter if the fraud materially affected the election, there was fraud, therefore we win”
4) Republicans are declared the winners, even though they’re the ones that cheated

We do not shame cats who cannot jump, nor ones that sit in an un-cat-like manner — we do try to shame cats that eat too much kibble, though it seldom works.

Mine can keep the front paws together when cat sitting, but one of her legs constantly has to trail out a bit. She also walks like a street walker, with that roll of a gal in knee high boots and a mini skirt. Wondering if she just has an issue with a hip.

I wish the military is “all” we had to worry about. They’ve been at this shit in nearly every aspect of America for at least as long as I have been alive. From schools to local, county and state governments. What pisses me off is the purposeful and calculated efforts to make us hate each other. To the point that we fight over basic rights, like feeding the poor, educating everyone who wants an education, affordable healthcare for every single person, lower taxes on the middle class, and keeping communities in tact. So we can function and advance past the basics. Why can’t people just grasp a very basic concept like making sure basic needs are adequately met means humans can focus on something beyond just basic survival? I can’t even begin to imagine having had that support as a homeless 17 yr old or as a 23 yr old first time mom working a full time retail job(which actually had very good health insurance, most retail used to, back in the day). I could have maybe continued on after high school and gone to college like I wanted to. Or become a skilled tradesperson of some kind. And what if we actually gave a shit about motherhood and provided support that’s needed to do what’s demanded?

It feels like everything has been infiltrated and taken over by right wing and ruined. From the seemingly harmless to the most crucial institutions; the military, police, courts, education and the rest.

yeah I’m saying it

they will not be able to change the obvious will of the voters by citing “we passed a law and that makes this legal”

“We can do this because we can, and we’ve ensured that you literally have no way of stopping us, you worthless fucks. We own this state forever, and you can sit and watch because fuck you, that’s why.”

It’s all about perpetuating their power for its own sake, to rub it into their enemies faces and scream “We win forever!!” And It’s the shittiest feeling in the world when you see it happen and there seems like you literally can’t do anything about it because they’ve so thoroughly gamed the system to allow it to happen.
