This plot from downstairs is worth another look. The disproportionate impact in blue vs. red in early 2020 is precisely why the stupid and evil shits in the Trump administration decided to let covid rip though the country at will.

Now Republicans are paying the price for that bit of stupidity in a way that is very unusual. Republicans usually don’t face consequences, but viruses (unlike the US establishment) don’t give a shit about magic R.

That is compelling. The R fatcats obviously don’t care how many voters they lose, since they plan to grab, and keep, power by methods other than free and fair election; suppression, nullification, gerrymandering and, as a last resort, sacrificing their working class dupes in pursuit of a “second amendment solution.” The top R’s do not believe their own antivaxx and Covid denial bullshit but I think they probably do believe the second amendment bullshit, that is, that commercial small arms are an ultimate weapon and their side has a monopoly on them. History is replete with high level politicians who had no idea how armed conflict really works, but were completely convinced that they did.

They marketed oxy as a less dangerous pain killer. They lied. They flooded the markets. Sent an army of drug reps to work the docs and hospitals. Made BILLIONS.

The state legislature here has directed the Department of Health and Human Services to end its child foster care programme with St. Francis Ministries in Kansas, returning those functions to the state.

St. Francis offered services to the state at 40% of the cost of the state programme for Omaha.

Our Catholic state governor directed a no-bid contract to the Catholic Church agency in Kansas, which resulted in lost children, substandard care, and poor accountability of state funds.

The switch back to the DHHS from the Catholic Church must be completed by June 30. The governor claims this is religious discrimination against Christians.

The state was tipped off by whistleblowers within St. Francis Ministries that they were misusing state funds. St. Francis claimed they were running out of money and got an emergency $147million infusion of state tax money.

Republicans privatised child foster care in 2009. Within a few years, all but one programme failed. The St. Francis contract was let after Boys Town withdrew from the state programme last year, leaving no foster care services for Omaha and eastern Nebraska.

In 2012, I had the opportunity to meet Mark Meadows on multiple occasions in my position as News Editor/Political Reporter for the local newspaper. I knew he would win the nomination and the election because he had the most money and was a shoe-in with the redrawn district that caused Heath Shuler not to seek re-election.

He didn’t impress me as incredibly smart, but he was quite congenial. He and his handler admitted Obama was likely to win re-election. What I hoped for was our district would get a rich guy who would be more like former GOP Congressman (and later Senator) Jim Broyhill. Instead, we got a power-hungry person who was eager to advance himself in far-right conservative circles.

That he inserted himself in the middle of a full-blown conspiracy to overthrow the American government is not a surprise. As I recall, his children were students at Patrick Henry College - aka “God’s Harvard” - and the school Madison Cawthorn only lasted a semester while allegedly trying to sexually assault coeds.

These folks really aren’t very smart. My hope is that the Committee - and more importantly the Justice Department - will come down hard on these traitors and charge them appropriately.

The ad was considered to be an amazingly fast response to the episode’s impact on their stock price, but people are no longer impressed.

Peloton and Ryan Reynolds have both removed all content connected to their viral commercial with Chris Noth after he was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

All Peloton social media channels scrubbed any mention of their ad with Noth, 67, on Thursday, December 16. Reynolds, 45, also removed his announcement about his marketing firm’s collaboration with the Sex and the City star.

Given that a Trump-appointed judge is now questioning the First Amendment, in a 2-1 case he was outvoted, we must consider what a 2025 America would look like. BTW, it dealt with a student who would not stand in school for the Pledge of Allegiance.

What would be your thoughts, given that the Supreme Court could easily be 7-2 after Breyer kicks the bucket?

Yep. If the FDA says they’re safe and you have a valid script, you can buy your meds across EITHER border for far less in some cases and either have them shipped to you or you pick it up. I do believe this is a subset of medical tourism.

As a student of history and politics, just never thought I would be writing about our very democracy being in peril (enpreril, LOL). My mom was a Republican, but broke away after they went crazy over abortion. Never imagined that the party that was supposedly for “freedom” and “democratic elections,” would sink as low as they could into a White Supremacist Cult. Especially with a grifter who couldn’t care less about anyone except himself. f you’re not sure about your status as an audiophile, here are some options that might let you know there’s a tell or two in your life.

You might be considered an audiophile if you paid more for the stereo system in your car than the price for the vehicle.
You could be an audiophile if your garden hose is thinner than the cables coming from your turntable.
If you learned how to solder before riding a bike or playing soccer, you might be an audiophile.
When you get annoyed by the clicking and popping sounds produced by your turntable, it might mean that you’re an audiophile.
In all seriousness, there’s nothing wrong with any of those outcomes. You deserve to relax and have fun in whatever way you prefer.

She’s no different from the highly educated Republicans such as Massie who have chosen wealth over the well being of our nation. Unfortunately as long as there are only 50 Democrats, it’s necessary to cater to her and Manchin; otherwise the situation, as bad as it is, would be far more catastrophic. If only there were some way to persuade 2 Republicans to switch sides, we would have a chance.

But isn’t that the ultimate result of our “democracy?” - At 435 reps per 330 million people, that is far cry from 100 years ago, let alone 40 years ago. And the Senate still gives the same power to Wyoming as California.

The problem with the Senate was there from the day the Constitution went into effect. It was part of the original design. In 1790, the largest state Virginia had 10 times the population of the smallest state. And this situation will continue to deteriorate as people prefer locating to states with more amenities and better medical treatment.

Most of the House problems relate to gerrymandering; something that could be corrected but won’t be because, overall, it benefits Republicans.

Are any of you guys still using 2-factor auth via text messages, and it still works? If so, what cell network are you using?

Trying to decide if I should discontinue the 2FA text option and only allow authenticator apps. The apps are more secure anyway, and they don’t clutter up your messaging app with unnecessary texts.

As long as you still provide a way to log in without it. I cannot have my phone where I work, and im not allowed to access any type of public email, and would not be able to get on otherwise.

Just so we’re clear on this, Tucker is saying:

1. Living wages for “burger flippers” is something to be celebrated after literal years of being told that the minimum wage is totally sufficient (if not “too high”) and raising it would cause runaway inflation that would destroy our economy.

2. This is suddenly a negative thing to Dems, despite all the efforts including this spring to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr.

3. Despite these higher wages, there remains a national “labor shortage”

4. Dems are trying to use that labor shortage to bring in immigrants, thus sabotaging the success of the “burger flippers” that Faux suddenly discovered a deep concern for.

I got that about right?

re: #23 Charles Johnson

I suspect that you have seen today’s WashPost article on passwords.

…snip…

Two-factor authentication means a person has to authenticate their identity in two different ways before gaining access to an account. By enabling two-factor, you prevent hackers from breaking in if they’ve only gotten their hands on your username and password.

Traditionally, two-factor has involved a text message sent to your phone with a numeric code to input. If you know the code, that means you have your phone, so the app or site can trust that you’re really you.

But that method leaves you vulnerable if somebody gets their hands on your phone. If you want some password hygiene extra credit, take a couple seconds to download an authenticator app. These connect to your accounts and ping you when somebody tries to log on. Then, the app gives you some second piece of info that authenticates your identity and lets you sign in. Google, Microsoft, Twilio and id.me all make authenticator apps you can access from different mobile devices. Just type “authenticator” into an app store and download one of these options.

From Salon:

Tim Kaine becomes first Democratic senator to ditch National Prayer Breakfast

Former veep nominee, a co-chair of the right-wing breakfast for years, says he has “no intention” of going back

In the wake of recent calls for members of Congress to distance themselves from the event, TYT asked a handful whether they planned to participate in the February 2022 event. Kaine press secretary Ilse Zuniga responded, saying, “Sen. Kaine has not been to the National Prayer Breakfast since 2016 and has no intention of attending.”

Zuniga did not say what led to Kaine’s decision, but TYT’s email referred to recent activist warnings that Democratic participation in prayer breakfasts helps far-right organizers expand their networks and mainstream their opposition to LGBTQ and reproductive rights.

The Freedom from Religion Foundation has been calling on politicians to boycott the LGBT bigotted group which also supports a fascist group in Ukraine for years.

“We’re thrilled that Sen. Kaine has opted not to attend this pay-to-play political event that alienates nonreligious Americans, tramples the constitutional separation of state and church, and has a disturbing history of anti-LGBTQ bigotry,” said Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) co-president Annie Laurie Gaylor. The FFRF has long opposed the breakfast and had recently asked Kaine not to participate.

Another group raising alarms about the event is the European LGBTQ advocacy group Forbidden Colours. In response to TYT’s reporting on anti-LGBTQ Ukrainians involved in the breakfast, Forbidden Colours sent congressional Democrats a briefing paper, saying that Rep. Juan Vargas, D-Calif., had been “misled” in participating in September’s Ukraine breakfast organized by far-right anti-LGBTQ activists.

Because the reality is a good portion of American history could really be summed up as “Slave gets shit done.” It’s just that we decided as nation at the mid-point in the American Experiment that if we paid the slaves a bit of money, then it was no longer “really” slavery but “capitalism.”

From the end of the article:

Kaine — who served as the event’s co-chair in 2016 until pulling out after becoming the Democratic vice presidential nominee — is only the latest Democratic member of Congress to distance themselves from the event, held every year on the first Thursday of February.

Others have included Reps. Charlie Crist of Florida, Ro Khanna of California, Ann Kirkpatrick of Arizona and Ted Lieu of California, as well as former Rep. Janice Hahn, now a Los Angeles County supervisor. Responding to recent reports that a longtime Chick-fil-A executive was inviting anti-LGBTQ guests to the breakfast, Norm Ornstein of the American Enterprise Institute tweeted, “Time to end this farce; create a genuine National Prayer Breakfast that is not a front for right-wing activists.”

Utah State University Police Chief has resigned from his position after saying some religious women claim rape because they regretted having sex.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah State University police chief has resigned after a recording the institution called reprehensible came to light showing telling football players that some religious women may claim sex was not consensual because they regret it. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Chief Earl Morris stepped down Thursday, after the newspaper obtained a recording of his comments about female members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The recording was also referenced by a female student who said in a lawsuit the school mishandled her sexual-assault report against a football player despite promising to improve following a previous sexual-assault scandal involving a football player. Utah State says it has made progress.

Telegram is essentially the last big player for the fascists standing.

Telegram has arrived. The encrypted messaging app enjoyed popularity worldwide for years, but in the United States, it’d been a lesser player in a field that includes social media giants Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter and their fringe competitors Parler, Gab, and Rumble. Not anymore. In far-right and conspiracy theorists’ circles in 2021, Telegram is king.

Extremists and conspiracists, many of whom are terminally online, were already switching to alternatives like Gab and Parler because they were getting suspended in larger platforms’ crackdowns on extremism, disinformation, and conspiracies. The trickle became an exodus after the Capitol riot on Jan. 6. In the days following the riot, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube suspended former President Donald Trump and a slew of others believed to have incited or participated in it. Many, with the notable exception of Trump, turned to Gab, Parler, and Telegram. Their audience rushed to join them.

Initially it seemed that Parler would become the far-right’s platform of choice for 2021. Then Amazon Web Services severed ties over its role in the Capitol riot, which was largely coordinated and livestreamed on the platform. With Parler forced offline, though not before researchers archived its data, Gab might’ve been the next logical choice. But it’s still hobbled by perceptions formed when the Pittsburgh synagogue mass shooter posted his manifesto on the platform, making it known as a haven for antisemites. Then Gab was hacked.

Others have attempted to enter the space. Trump’s planning to launch his own social media platform next year, though it’s already under federal investigation and was overrun by trolls. MeWe is essentially a non-player. Gettr launched in the summer of 2021 and was quickly awash with pro-ISIS propaganda. Since then it’s struggled to get off the ground. As of November, Gettr had a comparatively tiny presence of 3 million all-time downloads, per the Washington Post. Mike “My Election Fraud Pillow” Lindell also tried and failed at launching his own platform.

More assassination plots planned on Telegram.

German police confiscated weapons during raids in the eastern cities of Dresden and Heidenau on Wednesday in connection with an alleged plot by radical anti-vaccination activists to kill Saxony’s governor.

Members of a group calling itself “Dresden Offlinevernetzung,” or Dresden offline network, had discussed killing state premier Michael Kretschmer on the online platform Telegram, according to police.

Both Dresden and the nearby small town of Heidenau are located in the country’s state of Saxony, which was once part of communist East Germany. The region has among the lowest vaccine rates and highest number of COVID-19 infections in the country.

They are taking this seriously here, Averill Park Central School system has closed because of this threat.

The Averill Park Central School District canceled classes Friday as an unsubstantiated wave of online threats spread through school districts around the country.

So far, Averill Park is the only local school district to close its schools, saying in a statement posted on the district’s website that the decision to close Friday was prompted by a specific threat.

“Late Thursday night, the Averill Park Central School District received a threat directed toward the district from an unknown person or persons. We wish to stress that it is, at present, an unsubstantiated threat. Out of an abundance of caution, the district will be closed tomorrow (Friday, December 17) for all students in grades K-12,” the district wrote on its website.

I’m watching Brandy Zadrozny on MSNBC discussing research of candidates running for re-election and misinformation in their newsletters. Unsurprisingly, 15% of GOP emails contained misinformation about things like BBB and immigration, while only 2% of Dem newsletters contained misinformation, and when called on it, the Dems promised to correct it whereas GOPers wouldn’t return calls.

At the same time, I’m reading the morning NYT newsletter that I copy below:

Red alert
Tucker Carlson could do it. So could Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin or Donald Trump himself.

One of these conservative figures could go on the air and explain that the Omicron variant has placed much of their audience in grave danger. They could remind people that they have been skeptical of vaccines at times — but that Omicron is different. It is so contagious that it may quickly sweep the country.

As they issued this warning, they could still take their usual swipes at the political left, mocking panicky liberals for wearing masks outdoors and forcing children to sit apart in cold schoolyards. Conservatives don’t need to do any of that; they just need to take a Covid-19 vaccine — the “Trump vaccine” that could save their life.

I don’t have any illusions about how likely this scenario is, but I do think that unvaccinated Americans — who are disproportionately Republican — are now in even more danger than a few weeks ago. Omicron seems to be qualitatively more contagious than any earlier variant. As my colleague Emily Anthes writes, in a roundup of the latest developments:

In South Africa, Omicron spread twice as fast as the highly infectious Delta variant. In Britain, officials have estimated that 200,000 people are becoming infected with Omicron every day. In Denmark, Omicron cases are doubling roughly every two days.

‘Needlessly’
In the U.S., partisanship is the biggest factor determining vaccination rates. If Democratic voters made up their own country, it would be one of the world’s most vaccinated, with more than 91 percent of adults having received at least one shot. Only about 60 percent of Republican adults have done so.

This vaccination gap has created a huge gap in death rates, one that has grown sharply during the second half of the year.

The chart below is based on data from Charles Gaba, a health care analyst who has split the country into 10 equally sized groups. The Trump line refers to the one-tenth of Americans who live in counties that voted most heavily for Trump last year, while the Biden line is the equivalent for the president’s best counties. The line labeled “swing” describes counties where each candidate won at least 45 percent of the votes:

Others are speculating that the omicron wave that will sweep through the nation will kill a lot of people, but more per capita will die in red states than blue. High vaccination rates will prevent cases from becoming death statistics, while lower vaccination rates will see both high cases and high death tolls and overwhelmed hospitals.

We’re already seeing this. Delta was just the warmup.

Every last motherfucking right winger doesn’t get the math of how any of this works.

Delta was highly effective as a killing machine.
Omicron is even more effective as a spreader, and slightly less effective as a killing machine than delta. That means omicron will kill more people over time because complacency, lack of vaccinations, and breakthroughs will add up.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans died in 2021 with vaccinations available and millions making a conscious decision not to vaccinate. These were preventable deaths.

Tens of millions refuse to mask, which is cheap and easy solution to reducing spread of covid19. That too led to hundreds of thousands of avoidable deaths. Nearly all of those who got sick or died could have been prevented after that initial wave of cases that hit and ravaged the NYC metro area. Massive spikes in cases in places like TX and FL didn’t need to come to pass but for GOP refusal to follow public health guidance on masking, social distancing, and then vaccinations. They knowingly killed their own residents to pwn the libs.

In many cases, it’s not that they don’t get it, it’s that they literally don’t care. You know what the most common arguments are that I hear against masking or vaccinating? “They’re not 100% effective, so why should I give up my freedom to breathe/control what I put in my body? You go get your vaccine and keep it, I don’t need any of that shit.” They understand perfectly well, they just deliberately choose not to because they have been programmed to respond to “freedom = patriotism = God Bless America” and the right-wing propaganda has been so successful at portraying mask and vaccine mandates as tyranny.

we and others have joked about it. i think there was a dan rather tweet about copying answers off someone else in school.

basic math
basic science understanding
people who arent deliberately spinning and lying just don’t have these basic skills

maybe they learned way back when and since forgot
maybe they never learned
maybe back in high school they were lost, or bored, or their eyes glossed over if something took more than just a few minutes to explain, let alone multiple classes to build up the concept of a proof or conclusion.

in addition to the math and science, understanding the virus, and many other issues today requires a rudimentary ability to read, analyze and reason things though.

this feels like work. and it’s clearly too much for a lot of folks.

it’s easier for them to be told what to think than to do the work to figure it out themselves.

and sadly for them and the rest of us, it’s clear that a bunch of -paths have learned to prey on this

So Deathsantis’ drive up monoclonal clinics aren’t going to be the answer this time.

My guess is that if omicron turns out to be deadly, instead of merely highly contagious, pharmaceutical firms will soon have an updated version of their products that will prove effective. And then there will be a stream of updated products for coming variants pi, rho, sigma — etc.

Cornell University reported 903 cases of Covid-19 among students between December 7-13, and a “very high percentage” of them are Omicron variant cases in fully vaccinated individuals, according to university officials.

The school’s Covid-19 dashboard was updated late Tuesday afternoon, accounting for the jump in case numbers reported.
“Virtually every case of the Omicron variant to date has been found in fully vaccinated students, a portion of whom had also received a booster shot,” said Vice President for University Relations Joel Malina in a statement.
As of result, the school has decided to shut down its Ithaca, New York, campus, where it has about 25,600 students. Cornell’s overall vaccination rate among students is 99%.

He is technically correct; West Virginia did secede from the Confederate state of Virginia. The difference is, West Virginia seceded from an illegally formed rebellious state government, and immediately asked for (and was granted) statehood from the United States. West Virginia was never left to function as its own independent republic, as would happen if Kentucky seceded from the Union today. In a similar vein, Maine also separated from Massachusetts, but you don’t hear anyone saying that Maine proves that secession works.

Unilateral secession from the Union by a state is clearly prohibited by the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution. Kentucky becoming an independent republic would require an Act of Congress. en.wikipedia.org

One of my freshmen classmates at MIT (from Bronx Science, NYC) didn’t know West Virginia was a state - he thought it was just a region of Virginia.

Most people know it’s a state, but few know it seceded from VA. It’s a story that’s not often told.

The context of that secession was the Civil War, and it did not secede from the Union, it seceded from the (slaveholding) state of Virginia.

And that story has been told, regardless of whether some freshman from the Bronx did not know about it.

Tx. I knew the difference, but Spellcheck didn’t…. 🙄

Though checking the subject out, I discovered that the original company (named partly after one of its founders, John Purdue Gray) was founded in 1893; the infamous Sacklers bought it in 1952.

Why does part of me think this person faked collapsing to get sympathy from the judge?

The ‘hasn’t she been punished enough already?’ defense should trigger judges to give out the maximum and end the discussion. Every defendant uses it at sentencing. “Please, your honor, be nice to my client who called for the hanging of Mike Pence and the execution of Democrats.”

118th Anniversary of Powered Flight

On the morning of December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright took turns piloting and monitoring their flying machine in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Orville piloted the first flight that lasted just 12 seconds and 120 feet. On the fourth and final flight of the day, Wilbur traveled 852 feet, remaining airborne for 59 seconds. That morning, the brothers became the first people to demonstrate sustained flight of a heavier-than-air machine under the complete control of the pilot.

I am fully aware that jingoists, propagandists, politicians, and other low life in dozens of locales dispute this, usually by playing around with definitions or citing completely un-corroborated reports. New Zealand’s claim for primacy is based on a single eyewitness report that was not made until 60 years after the fact. The Wright’s flights were witnessed by 14 people and, of course, there are photographs.
Brazil’s is based on the Wrights allegedly using a weight driven catapult to get the machine airborne while their guy, the rich expat Alberto Santos-Dumont, got his contraption into the air unassisted 2 1/2 years later. They have re-defined “flight” to exclude catapults, JATO rockets, etc. This must come as news to carrier aviators. It crucially ignores whether a catapulted machine continues to gain speed and height after it leaves the catapult. In any case, the Wrights did not use the catapult on the 12-17 flights, though the machine did coast downhill on a rail. Santos-Dumont’s airplane could barely turn out of a straight line and did not match the longest flight by the Wrights on their first day of flying back in 1903. By 1906 the Wrights had made flights of nearly an hour duration and had routinely flown circles around nearby farms and towns. I have also seen Brazilians and various history-quacks claim that Santos-Dumont shoud be credited with inventing powered flight since he flew a dirigible before the Wrights flew their airplane. In fact, quite a few powered dirigibles were flown before Santos-Dumont was even born, starting with Frenchman Henri Giffard in 1853.

“…Other documents showed that Yellow had continued contact with other White House offices and officials—including the Chief of Staff to National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow—as it sought a loan from Treasury, and that the Trump “White House remain[ed] engaged and has been calling for updates frequently.” Trump White House involvement is particularly concerning because any interference in the consideration Yellow’s loan application by White House advisor Jared Kushner could present a conflict of interest, as Mr. Kushner’s family business received a $184 million loan from Apollo Global Management—also a major Yellow creditor—earlier in his White House tenure. In light of these White House contacts, in October 2021 the Select Subcommittee requested that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) produce Trump White House records related to the Yellow loan.”

A week after a major report from IGN detailing troubling allegations of workplace culture, crunch, and hiring practices within Bungie, the studio’s Head of HR has stepped down from her role.

In a company-wide email seen by IGN and sent earlier today, Gayle d’Hondt—who has been with the studio since 2007—says that in order for Bungie to move forwards from the problems that have plagued it for years, it will need to do so with its HR team “largely comprised of people new to Bungie.”

“I know that they need to be trusted to be your advocates - not labeled as ‘enablers’ or seen as company resources who provide bad actors with safe harbor,” part of the email says, before adding that her time at Bungie had been punctuated with “deeply challenging interpersonal conflicts,” up to and including the firing of colleagues for “performance, bad behavior, and for discrimination, racism, and sexual harassment.”

Alarmingly, d’Hondt also mentions in the company-wide email her own experiences, singling out abuse she had suffered from “a man, an executive, and someone I thought was my friend at Bungie—which resulted in Bungie firing him.”

Which is where, IMO, the Wright Bros. deserve their accolades: their system of biplane wings with a rudder and a canard in front to keep the lift up proved the most stable (and more importantly, controllable) system to keep a heaver-than-air machine up, and maneuvering.

Though yeah, powered flight really wasn’t practicable without the ICE.

Exactly right. The engine in the Wright Flyer was nothing special by the standards of the time. The engine in Professor Langley’s Aerodrome was a masterpiece by comparison. Made by Cornell trained engineer and master mechanic Charles Manly, it was 4 times as powerful as the Wright engine and had a power/weight ratio that was not equaled until 1913. The Aerodrome was catapulted into the Potomac River twice in failed attempts to fly a few weeks before the Wrights’ first flights. Manly was the erstwhile pilot and narrowly escaped drowning in one of the attempts.

“Loving Israel” — to those fundamentalists also means making conditions for Jews bad everywhere else so they are forced to go to Israel. That’s why Netanyahu, et. al, weren’t to unhappy to be friends with people whose other friends were Neo-Nazi’s. Making conditions worse for Jews in the diaspora also increased the percentage of Jews in Israel.

Of course, by concentrating the Jews in Israel, it would make it easier for the anti-Christ to launch the Second Holocaust, as required by their endtimes …. “theology”.

“I will forever have to fear applying for jobs knowing the instant they Google my name they will not see the hardworking student… They will only see the girl who trespassed in the nation’s Capitol… thinking she was just so cool.”

Well, well, well. If it isn’t the consequences of your own actions.

If you were worried about this, you shouldn’t have gone there in the first damn place.

Five years works for me.

He’s playing the “I was an abused child” card, rather than “you can’t put me in prison because I’m unvaccinated” card.

Yeah, Rafael. They’re firing people who pose a risk to their customers - idiots like your followers, in case you didn’t figure out where I’m going with this - and hiring people who are willing to be responsible and make intelligent choices. And they’ve calculated that it’s more worth it to do that and have some smaller flights grounded than to continue risking their staff infecting people who are essentially a captive audience aboard a tin tube.

Sure, but the Q theologians would rip them apart and assign hidden meanings to the most mundane of cat memes.

“Mohammed liked cats. Therefore, Hillary Clinton was a secret convert to Islam!”

“The picture of the lazy cat, really means, they’re rejoicing in how leftism and progressivism will make Americans weak and primed for a takeover by Mexico.”

Hillary had a cat named Isis. Investigations are underway into reports that Biden had a dog named Lenin and a ferret named Trotsky.
