The judge almost had the bailiff haul her away during her closing arguments (even an objection is rare, the judge threatening contempt is practically unheard of).
Given that award amount, I think that the judge should have rounded the award amount to $81,283,501.

Surety bonds on appeal in the 2nd Circuit are at the district court’s discretion. I’m guessing Judge Kaplan will require a bond for 100% of the verdict. Justice Engoron is likely to issue a ~$400 million fine next week; in state court appeal bonds MUST be for 100% plus statutory 9% interest.
Appeal bonds are generally 100% collateralized; it’s conceivable some bank could offer Trump an irrevocable letter of credit, but a half- billion dollars is a lot.

Rap-hating conservative pundit Ben Shapiro is now a rapper.
Shapiro, the founder of right-wing media empire The Daily Wire, teamed up with MAGA rapper Tom MacDonald—yes, MAGA rap is a real genre—on the lib-owning track “Facts,” which debuted Friday. Much like the rest of MacDonald’s oeuvre, this latest song centers on well-worn right-wing culture war talking points.
This time around, though, there’s the extra bonus of Shapiro—who has long complained that rap is not a real art form—busting out his own rhymes.
Of course, the whole thing is purposely cringe, which is the entire point. Whether it’s MacDonald wearing an “I Don’t Care If I Offend You” hoodie in the video, or Shapiro spitting verses like “Homie I’m epic/don’t be a WAP,” the song is merely another lazy exercise in titillating easily entertained conservatives while supposedly enraging “snowflake” liberals.

Every genre has great music, even genres I don’t really care for. I’m not a a big rap, country or opera fan but individual pieces of each type have found their way into my collection. Being open to the music is never a bad thing.

So if anyone wants a recommendation for an utterly silly fun casual game, I splurged on the arcade race game “Hot Wheels Unleashed”
Yeah, it’s just like it sounds on the label - racing the little toy cars on the little plastic tracks around, say, the basement of your house. I’ve only just gotten it and even had to break down and actually buy a gaming controller (Logitech F310) but it’s nice relaxing silly fun and worth the money. The toy cars are highly detailed and it reminds me of the fun my son and I used to have playing with the real thing once upon a time.
