But it’s wrong. There’s an entry for “Palestine,” when all of the other entries are countries. And this map uses “Palestine” to refer to the West Bank, rather than to all of Palestine, which of course currently consists of at least two other countries, and the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
Wow, take a look at the website….huge agenda here!
Still a fun activity that teaches you to locate the countries at a glance. For me, if a site has something useful to be culled, the politics or agenda are neither here nor there. Palestine could use some tweaking but overall it’s worthwhile. Down dinging a puzzle. Sheesh.

Holy shit, you’re right. Look at their home page. The first thing on it is the cover story in the current issue of “Rethinking Schools,” called “The Duncan Myth.” Here’s their synopsis:
Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s tenure as CEO of Chicago Public Schools show that he’s more corporate drone than populist administrator, according to the authors of Rethinking Schools’ cover story. This is an eyewitness account of how Duncan’s policies—from the destruction of neighborhood schools to the creation of an unprecedented number of military high schools—destabilized the lives of students, teachers, families, and communities.
Need I go on to quote from “Teaching For Joy and Justice,” the sequel to author Linda Christensen’s popular “Reading, Writing, and Rising Up”? I realize that last title sounds like a hilarious caricature of left-wing indoctrination in public schools, but I didn’t make it up.
If you really want to make yourself sick, read their “War, Terrorism and Our Classrooms: A Rethinking Schools Special Report.” Or “The Palestinian Uprising: A Primer.” Or, better still, search for William Ayers or Bernadette Dorn, and note how many articles they have written for these people.
This is flat-out sickening, truly nauseating stuff. How the hell did Silvergirl stumble into this cesspool?
re: #4 Last Mohican
The “Rethinking Math” has an interesting chapter on “unequal wealth distribution”
re: #3 Silvergirl
as a general rule I happen to love puzzles and games, however, after perusing the website I was disgusted with the agenda. Sue me for the down ding…I would down ding a word search on a nazi website as well.

What’s a nice girl like me doing in a place like this?
It was linked in the forum of my book swapping club. BookMooch has books of all kinds to read, and many conservative books change hands there, as well as any others a person might want. Political leanings are not checked at the door when you join.
How the hell does anyone stumble on anything on the internet? How much trash do you get in your email every day? I shared a geo puzzle that I think is a good teaching tool, which apparently several lizards have enjoyed messing with, and I didn’t crawl all over their website before I posted it.

Agreed. Even if only one of the thirty hidden words was “DIRTYJEWS”.
I’d like to clarify that I don’t think any less of Silvergirl for supplying this link, nor do I think any less of the 19 people who updinged it. Apart from the one little ugly agenda item within it, the puzzle itself is just a fun and educational diversion that anyone might have stumbled into innocently.
I actually think this site deserves some exploration, as an example of the idiocy of the leftist extremists who dominate education policy decisions and command a lot of government funding, especially in the era of Hopenchange. It’s sort of like that creationist site that Charles did a thread on, with the cartoon of the little girl feeding the Brontosaurus: equal parts repulsive and hilarious. I mean, seriously. “Reading, Writing, and Rising Up”? A chapter on “unequal wealth distribution” in “Rethinking Math”? Don’t these people realize how utterly ridiculous they are?
re: #7 Silvergirl
Oops, crossed posts.
See my comments above. No hard feelings whatsoever on my part.
re: #7 Silvergirl
Silvergirl….Sorry if I came across as an ass….really, REALLY, rough day for me. I was not down-dinging the puzzle per say….just my way of saying…Hey…take a look at this crap on the website. My netiquette was probably lacking. Again, loooove puzzles….just the website was completely nutty, which is why I down dinged…no offense. Kumbaya ;o)
Are you sure this site isn’t a parody of a leftest educational site?
re: #11 Lee Coller
I don’t think so, but if you find proof otherwise…post it.
Hey there Last Mohican and kawfytawk, no apologies or explanations necessary! I’ve now looked over the site and can see the points you made. I agree that it probably isn’t a parody of a leftist educational site as Lee Coller suggests.
It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to do some exploration as you suggested above, LM, and if Charles wanted to do a thread on it to show some of this “Reading, Writing, and Rising Up” they’ve got going, you take the hat tip! I had my puzzle fun and I’m a little faster now with getting Oman and Yemen in their proper places and not reversed, and all the “stan” countries where they belong.

I forgot the SARC tag, it clearly isn’t a parody, but if I were to create a parody site, that’s what it would look like.

You could also send it to James Taranto over at the WSJ (he writes the popular Best of the Web column). You’d have to spend time doing a little more research to identify the more outrageous stuff to point out to him.
I’d do it myself, but I don’t have the time right now.

Isn’t that the truth?….what in the world is going on these days? Every time I think I am shocked…something new and even more crazy catches my eye.
