“The U.S.S. Obamaship”

Uh, they got it wrong. It's "U.S.S. Obamaboat".

Wow. I really hope this hurts him more than it helps, but I'm not hopeful.

Wait, that's not all. YT user "MarkOxnerForCongress" actually interacts with commenters. Like this:

What world do you live in where you think it is ok to make a comedy out of slavery? Millions of people were separated from their family, beaten, killed, and raped. How low class of you. I believe in what goes around comes around and you will lose this battle. The President is a good man and has many great ideas and cares about the middle class. You on the other hand have no ideas and you lack intelligence.

@laviarose1 Who said that enslaving our children to government debt incurred for Obama's cronies at Solyndra and other companies was at all funny? The only thing funny are those who think that their "benefits and bailouts" from government are provided without damaging freedom of the individual.

@laviarose1 Also, when you write "The President is a good man and has many great ideas and cares about the middle class," please provide examples. - Oxner Staff

To "Oxner staff" (no doubt some idiot in his basement in a dirty T shirt) What about the millions of people who are w/o health insurance? Dont they matter? Arent they rowing the boat? Dont they deserve a place at the table let alone the lifeboat?

Mintey75 1 day ago 10

@Mintey75 Everyone should have access to health care that is provided out of free will by free individuals in a free market, unrestricted and un-manipulated by federal or state governments (or lazy entities buying them off). - Oxner Staff.

@ShinoShaw Nice try, but that's not what the ad states. It only depicts a person on the deck of a ship who thinks that she got free health care for life. We do not show her getting free health care for life. Not even in a montage with the calendar rolling past. She in fact is partying on a ship being rowed by children enslaved by debt. Like Alan Grayson's friends in Congress. - Oxner Staff

@MissGinaE We're not here to defend "parties" like robots. We will let you expend all of your energy being a party apparatchik. In fact, if you want to rail against the GOP, be our guest. They voted for TARP, they ran up the deficit, and set the stage for Obama to come in and make the debt much, much worse, with Alan Grayson squawking in joy on Bill Maher's show. Squawk away as you are driven deeper into debt. - Oxner Staff

what clowns. This is like seeing O"Keefe run for office. It's that subtle.

8 Lord Baron Viscount Duke Earl Count Planckton  Fri, Jan 27, 2012 9:35:57am
@Kelmo17 Mark Oxner was against TARP at the time, and still is against it, and all other forms of "stimulus." You may also be unaware that the Tea Party movement started as a protest against TARP, under George Bush. This bit of history is often ignored by the media, because it ruins their narrative. - Oxner Staff

Looks like the director of this ad is African-American: @VernonFurniss

Typical ploy. So I assume this means "it's OK folks you can go home now."

Weak. Yeah, he's getting accolades from the usual suspects. First person he followed was Dan "Imaginary Black Kid Beatdown" Riehl.

A little background on when TARP began from NPR.

In the fall of 2008, when a mortgage crisis brought fears of failing financial institutions, Congress passed emergency legislation creating a $700 billion fund called the Troubled Asset Relief Program. TARP, as it is known, was approved with broad bipartisan support, and the markets stabilized...

In October 2008, Barack Obama had not yet been elected. The economy had become the issue in the campaign. And Republican President George W. Bush spoke to the nation thanking Democrats and Republicans for coming together to avert a crisis...

"This week, Congress passed a bipartisan rescue package to address the instability in America's financial system," Bush said. "This was a difficult vote for many members of the House and Senate, but voting for it was the right choice for America's economy and for taxpayers like you."

Right. It's acknowledged within "the fine print."

Going after the anti-white-slavery/pro-smooth-jazz-piano vote, I see.

Picturing President Obama as captain of a slave ship is yet another appeal to the racist elements of the right wing, of course.

The video features several men and woman on a boat—“The U.S.S. Obamaship”—discussing how “this ship” has given them various benefits, such as a bank bailout and “free health care for life.”

The several men and a woman were bankers?

“free health care for life.”

The mandates for people without insurance are free? Cool.

There has been a persistent determination to insist that various features of 'Obamacare' will be paid for with tax dollars. I recall that we had a great row right here about people being able to keep their children on their insurance policies longer, with several parties simply not registering, no matter how many times it was repeated, that the parents would pay for this, just as they had when the kid was younger.

The conversation kept resetting to 'why should I pay for other people's adult kids to have health insurance?'

OT: But there's a lull. And it's food related. ;)

While out walking about for lunch I saw a newish burger place that was labelled (in large letter) "Glatt Kosher". Someone want to clue me in further on what this entails?

Passed it over to try a new pita and falafel place. Very good (and spicy) peanut sauce!

"Glatt kosher" means that the meat has been inspected and the internal organs of the slaughtered animal found to be without any blemishes.

That's the actual definition. But restaurants use it to mean "more kosherer than other kosher restaurants!"
