It was confusing to see a 20-yo referred to as a “minor” until put in the context of our nationwide 21-yo drinking age.

Yeah, the use of the term “minor” is misleading. It’s not a relative term with multiple definitions based on whether one can drink, drive a car, etc. It’s a legal term that has one definition. You’re either an adult or minor, period. Sometimes the state will choose to prosecute minors as adults due to heinous crimes. The victim here is not a minor, he just lives in a state where he can’t yet purchase alcohol legally. He’s an adult in every other respect under the law.

Which was why I replaced “minor” with “20-year old male” in the headline. I wanted to avoid confusion.

He’s a RINO for saying one thing then doing another, not once but twice. That kind of chameleon cannot really be regarded as loyal to any party, since he’s mostly in it for himself.

No, this incident just makes Schiliro a hypocrite, and a dangerous one at that.

You don’t get to redefine ‘RINO’ (which, in every case I’ve seen the past few years, has referred to [usually “moderate”] GOPers that have gone against the RWNJ TPer rabble) over this.

I though you were guided primarily by what is most politically expedient. That why you’re so incredibly late to support equality for gays and can’t articulate the argument the basis of rights. Instead you frame your switch on the realization that further resistance is futile. Well guess what, that’s exactly how hypocrites operate, in the expediency of the moment, not on principle. Sorry but this guy doesn’t become a RINO just by virtue of being a magnet for bad PR.

Arrogance of power. He figured he’d be able to control the situation, simply because he was the guy in charge. It’s a problem we see every year here on LGF: At least two mayors fall prey to that kind of arrogance and end up in jail.
