Bryan Fischer needs to be linked with tea party candidates in 2014. The closer the association, the more moderates and independents will move to mainstream candidates. This idiot serves a wide ranging purpose from that of disgust to that of utilizing his hate against the very ideas he desires to promote.

No, not with US liable laws. She’s a public figure and Fischer’s comments are close enough to (rancid) political speech that courts would throw her suit out. US courts grant very wide latitude in cases of political speech.

And even if the suit was successful, Fischer would get enough wingnut donations to pay the judgement and keep his job.

I think she could, since Fischer didn’t just express a political opinion, he made a flat out counterfactual statement that her “stated goal” is the destruction of western civilization with reckless disregard for its truth. I seriously doubt, however, that she would want to put herself through the ordeal of litigation with this sleazeball.

Right, that’s what I was thinking as well. It’s not like he’s saying shit like she’s a communist, he said flat out her stated goal is the destruction of western civ.
