Saw Pink Floyd at The Electric Factory in Philly in the 60’s Me and about 1000 others. Right up there and I could almost get hit with the sweat. The Who’s Tommy tour. On and on. Check this lineup out. Atlantic City Pop Festival was unbelievable. Original Electric Factory.
If you keep going through and click the continuing links at the bottom, it’s quite a history. Carlos Santanas first trip east was at the Atlantic City Pop Festival at the AC racetrack.. They were billed as the Santana Blues Band. Carlos was this skinny little dude with a Gibson SG and a stage full of wild haired percussionists. Nobody knew who or what they were. Carlos walked up to the microphone and said; “We are billed as the Santana Blues Band………………We are Santana.” And then they took out the first ten rows of people. If you saw the Woodstock performance, compound that by about 10. That was Santana at Atlantic City Pop Festival. Nuts.

The Final Cut was the last album with Waters. I loved that album however most people did not.
My guitar teacher has me practicing “Young Lust” this week. :P

Really excited to hear this. Not a hardcore Floyd fan but my cousin’s husband works as a sound engineer on the barge where Gilmour recorded this album and I was able to visit it this summer when I was in England. Didn’t get to meet Dave unfortunately but it’s a pretty neat old boat. Charlie Chaplin lived on it too.

The Final Cut was actually not that bad but in a real way I consider it a Waters solo album more than a Pink Floyd album. Much as the other PF’s are really Gilmore solo albums. I hope that make sense.

And a whole bunch more. In any case…Pink Floyd at the Philadelphia Electric Factory. It’s only the audio. I thought it was in 69. September 26 ,1970…….I was there. It was amazing. Over 44 years ago. I have to go lay down.
And The Who had just released Tommy. So when they played I sat about 10 feet off the stage and they played the whole Rock Opera. (May 23-24, 1969: The Who/Sweet Stavin Chain
The Who had just released their new album, Tommy. They would never play a place in Philadelphia as small as the Electric Factory again. It must have been a heck of a weekend.) It was a heck of a night I was there. I can’t remember if they even played any of their other hits. I saw Widespread Panic at Red Rocks this summer. If you can, go see them. Tightest band out there. Great show.
Joe Bonamassa is unbelievable live. Drive 300 miles if you must but see him before you or him pass.
