Stevie Ray Vaughan - Crossfire + Travis Walk (Instrumental) [1989]
When I first heard Stevie Ray Vaughan it was like a light went off in my head. Being a hack guitar player I was not unlike any other. You chase sounds in your head.
What SRV did was just roll up all the sounds in his head and he tipped his hat to all the artists who came before him by furthering the works they had done.
Trust me. What you hear on a recording can sometimes be less than what is being done live.
This is him with another band and he’s just tearing it up.
And that band is kicking ass. Check out the bass player holding up his broken string at the end of Crossfire.SRV knows he’s on a time frame with filming and pushes forward. He broke at least a string every time he played, and in the beginning he just went right on through bending up to tune. bass player pulled it out.
So I just ate up everything he recorded and bootlegs and and….
I never saw this recording. Maybe you did.
Maybe you did not.
If not, enjoy.
