If they were moving in a formation, then who ever ordered the formation without considering that one might get “squeezed” by holding it…., will be on the hook as well as the Captain for following it, but more than likely they are on the same ship which would be at least a one star (commmadore rank) if the rear was there, chances are it was the flag ship of the group…
