You know, I’m currently in upstate New York, at the southern edge of the catskills with my wife’s family. We were driving around yesterday and everywhere are these camps of chassidim. They’re tucked into the mountains and the woods so they can just be they’re crazy fundamentalist selves. But then it dawned on me. I am certain they are not stockpiling weapons. They just want to be. If these were fundamentalist christians living in remote camps there would be survivalist bunkers and lots of weapons.

They just go to the mountains for the summer. You know, vacations, like normal people. In fact most of them work in Brooklyn and NYC and just drive back and forth for the weekend.
