That’s … odd. I wonder if they were on oral contraceptives or hormone replacement for menopause? That can increase clotting potential in women. It would be instructive to know if they were able to factor that out.

Hopefully they investigated these cases very carefully to identify any other characteristics that may have contributed to these reactions. Given there are other effective vaccine choices, if I were a young woman, I would choose Pfizer or Moderna. The one silver lining is that they have identified the proper way to treat these clots and so reduce the danger to those who experience them; the standard treatment exacerbates the condition and leads to less favorable outcomes.
