the arabs and Egypt complain that if Israel insists on linking a cease fire with the release of Gilad Shalit

the Israelis are trying to destroy the process

Its that nice thingie, called ‘double standard’, applied to anything to do with Israeli politics.
The rules are simple: anything the ayrabs do is fine, and needs supporting; anything Israel does is baaad and needs to be supressed or abolished or prevented.

I’ll only be surprised if this double standard is not being applied.
