It was certainly deliberate. He refused to open the cockpit door for the pilot. The autopilot was reprogrammed to a standard descent from 38,000 ft to 100 ft, and the voice recorder captured the calm breathing of Lubitz as the plane headed for the mountains.
Maybe Lubitz could have passed out, or something, but he was still conscious enough to lock the door and reprogram the autopilot before that time.
He had to flip a switch to the lock position more than once in the time the pilot was trying to get back into the cockpit. Once you know how the door works, thereโs no room left to believe this wasnโt intentional.
