Thats why small denomination gold coins exist-to make change. Even 1 gram coins are out there.If the farmer can trade the gold for seed, as is likely all is well. Hyperinflation can happen with or without gold. I’m no fan of gold as a hoard. I’m not an advocate. But I have sold gold to these folks who seek shelter against inflation. Silver coins also fill the change/small purchase bill.
