For a long time now, I’ve preferred credit cards to debit cards because if the credit card gets compromised, there’s a charge on your statement that you can dispute with the CC issuer.

If a debit card get compromised, there might be a big hole in your bank account that you need to get reimbursed for.

Mine was compromised to the tune of $4,500 about three years ago

i had NO issue with the bank (Wells Fargo) as far as reimbursement
