I think the point is we are supposed to have a progressive tax, where the rich pay a higher tax rate. If the secretary is left with $42,000 after taxes at 30 percent on 60K, a guy making 50 million would still be left with a tidy 35 million at the same rate. There is no question that the rich pay more in taxes, and always have.
What types of “income” did Buffet include in that $47 million?
Which is better for the economy, giving a bigger piece to government and letting it return pennies on the dollar to the economy or letting Buffet invest it, thereby directing fueling job creation, and economic growth?
