re: #60 Political Atheist

I mostly agree. But it is not easier than a car. I can buy a used car and register it without any background check. I do not have to be licensed to drive to own the car. I can buy a new car-No background check. I can buy a car that goes 200 mph. Nobody checks my record. Legally-Felons can buy cars. Not guns.

If I buy a weapon from a neighbor, I do not have to register it nor do I have to have the background check. I can take that weapon to the local firing range (Texas) and use it, still without registering or background check. If an accident occurs, I will not face legal action for failing to register or getting the check — and neither will the neighbor who sold it to me.

If I buy a car from a neighbor I do have to register it. (Don’t need the background check). If I drive the car and have an accident I will face legal action for failing to register. Depending on the circumstances the neighbor who sold it to me may also face legal action.
