Let’s say you’ve got three cars in your driveway. Since you’re an important public figure, I show up to cover your day’s events. I bring my own car, which I fully fund, and I pay you five grand for a seat in one of your cars, which you’ll be using regardless of whether I’m there or not.

Unless you’re arguing the world is running out of cars, the case is closed.
