That isn’t really a very good reason for us to spend a lot of money to kill people.

Such bombing either gets Assad and/or other senior figures, in which case it is effectively an assassination, or it doesn’t get anyone of significance, in which case it is a nearly pointless exercise in killing off a few people unlucky enough to be in harm’s way.

Neither option is really appealing.
